I apologize I benefit nothing from this other than helping someone who may be in need . To be clear I have no referrals to Hand out and as you can see the link I posted is a public link . And also to be clear if you were so suspicious why did you DM me ? I even bothered to respond . Geez! No wonder the world is turning into a shitty place
No dog in this, but I appreciate your willingness to help. Seems someone else had nefarious intentions, and projected his I'll emotions on you. Kindness always wins. Thanks

I literally just opened a Gold account a week ago and received my card a few days ago. The bonus was 60K. I haven't spent anything yet. What is the chance they honor this new sign up bonus if I call them?
Reddit has a rule do not publicly request dm or pm. It looks suspicious on credit card threads. SD staff please monitor OP dm to ensure he isn't sending out referrals. Or just remove that rule from the site if it doesn't matter.
Done what you are suggesting successfully. So much so that both my Plat and Gold cards are now free to keep
Can you explain more? What kind of retention offer did you land for each of Gold and Platinum such that they're now 'free'?
I'm really tempted to get in on this, but I'm worried because unlike other cards like Chase Sapphire family, I cannot downgrade to a No-AF card after 1st year. (Since this is a charge card, the best I could do is downgrade to a Amex Green for $150 a year, from $250 for Gold. In that process, I also lose the opportunity to earn SUB on Amex Green.)
Yes but 120$ in Uber and 120$ in dining credit compensates for it . Of course this is not for everyone but 100k points is very valuable
the uber and dining credit is pretty limited though.. both only $10 a month, and dining credit seems to indicate that its only if you buy from like a list of 10 restaurants?

For the dining credit, use grubhub for a better variety of restaurants if you dont like amex's offering. That is what I do . Also the annual fee is also not so much though. If you use those alone, you have almost recouped your annual fee, and then the 4x in supermarkets like I explained somewhere else is worth a ton because not just groceries but all of a sudden gift cards are also 4x. That is worth so much. Then you add the SUB this is a no brainer.
The only thing Amex needs to do is make gas 4x , (although most of us just buy gas gift cards from the super market to get 4x on gas)
I've had a regular Platinum for years. Last week I just opened a Schwab Amex Platinum to take advantage of a Schwab Bank relationship $100 discount and a higher point redemption rate. That's a total of 2 platinum cards.
My plan was to try and get a retention offer to convert my regular platinum to a gold card next month. Now, I'm thinking maybe I should just apply for the gold and cancel the regular platinum.
That would leave me with 1 Schwab Platinum and 1 Gold.
Does Amex make retention offers to downgrade instead of cancelling?
They will not give you an offer to downgrade. Certainly not an offer anywhere near as good as this one.
Did a quick google search but couldn't find anything on Hyatt being a capital one transfer partner. If this is true, might be time to finally get a venture x card.
oops, i swear i saw it. i'll delete my response since i cant find it now either lol
I have an amex plat with the 15 dollar uber credit monthly
If I get the amex gold with the 10 dollar uber credit monthly,. will it COMBINE AND STACK with the amex plat for a total of 25 uber credit a month?
