I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

I have postpaid account with one area code with old cinguler days where i pay $25 a month with 200 min.

I would like to swith over this. Can I?

The postpaid number is old area code and if ATT had to assign new number it will be different area code from same region. This happened becasue they ran out of old area code. Can i still keep the same number?.
What happens to postpaid account?

TIA

Read wiki on 1st page and this post:

If your phone is locked to ATT then get it unlocked: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/

You'll need to port to TMo/VZ network to get off ATT network -- porting out will automatically cancel your ATT postpaid account if that's the only line on the account and you'll receive a final bill (otherwise account will continue with other remaining lines)

Porting will be fine as long as the temp number is from the same region/market (doesn't have to same area code) -- had a Chicago 312 temp number when activating service and no problem porting a Chicago 773 number afterwards

If your usage is that low then you might want to consider cheaper options -- if you're porting out to $10 TMo Connect plan anyways then you might as well try that out for a week to see if $10 TMo is good enough for you

wiki says 26 days to activate otherwise account will be cancelled. but my question are

1. my plan expires in 15 days, will it be ok to order now and activate it in 15 days? which is ok bcas within 26 days!!?

2.let's say sim shipped and activated with temporary number immediately but call 888-898-7685 to port actual number after 15 days. Is there option like that? anyone has any experience?

3. I see now we can order with physical sim or esim. esim is $0 and physical sim shipped for $0.99
Any one activated android phones or "S22 ultra or any latest samsung's esim" option (ofcourse iphone users are good)?

Hello SD!
This deal would save me a ton of money annually over the T Mobile plan I currently have now. But, I need to work this issue out…

I travel to Europe for a month every summer. I've been checking out a lot of Eastern Europe lately. From what I can tell, AT&T prepaid has an international add on option for $35 for 7 days (expensive) but unfortunately it only covers select western Euro countries.

Anyone have ideas of how to make this plan work and still be able to get calls, data, FaceTime and texts on my primary phone number whilst in non covered Euro counties?

Is there another service I could grab to cover me over there, maybe combined with Google Voice or something? I'm using an unlocked iPhone 13, if that matters…

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx 😊

activate this plan directly on esim on your iphone you know your iphone is dual sim right? and keep your physical sim slot free for a local European sim

Anyone know how many prepaid cards can be used to fund the initial $300? Would 4 x $75 work? Thanks.

Thanks for taking time to post your helpful idea!

I actually already thought about that before, but the issue is that I don't think that will allow my 20+ year old number ported to a new $300/yr AT&T plan to get calls, texting, FaceTime, etc. over there.

That's why I wondered if maybe something like Google Voice might somehow be able to work as a go-between. Like if I port my 20+ year phone number over to Google voice, then have that forward to my AT&T $300/yr new random phone number… then when I go to Europe, get a local euro SIM and have Google Voice forward to that local Euro SIM number.

I don't think that Google Voice workaround helps with texting from my 20+ year old main number, unless somehow Google Voice works for texts too… and something tells me there's a possibility that there might be a charge if Google Voice forwards my calls to a euro number. Hmm, so complicated!

(I hope this post makes some sense… it's been a long day lol)

Anyhow, again, thanks for sharing the idea. If anyone else has ideas or suggestions, I'll take 'em!

if you are in 13th month now & renewing then 8GB/month and $300/yr.

If you are asking what will be in 13th month from now, then don't know whether it will be 5GB/month for $300/yr or 8GB/month for $325/yr. It is all on depends on "future demand & supply or god's hand"

Thanks, I assume the speeds are much higher than Cricket. Need to get off the dead grandfathered plan. College kids complaining about lack of data on the 5 line plan.

After many many hours of research… I found what I needed here:

Newer iPhones can now do WFC calls and texts over the cellular data from other SIM (good for international travel or mixed carrier setups, when WFC and eSIM available)

I need to confirm with Apple, but this seems legit!

ATT reps are saying you can keep the 16gb annual plan -- just pay $300 next year to renew for another year

You can also port out before your service ends if you find a better deal or you need something else
