How's this product and brand in general? I am looking to replace my winter heating to heat pumps. Can these handle extreme cold days?

*sigh* I really hate this website sometimes.

In for one. Building a basement office and this will do nicely to keep the temps just right in there. It's oversized for the size of the room but 9k BTU seems to be the smallest you can go. I'll just have to keep an eye on how long it runs to avoid short cycling it.
Agreed with the other commenter, this unit should cycle up and down as needed to stop from freezing or short cycling. You'll probably just run at low power all the time and that's even better as it will pull extra humidity when in AC mode

That's good to know, thanks. Room will be about 150 sq ft so fairly small but not a closet or anything.

For a small standalone office (200 Sq ft) this seems like more than I need. Anyone have any experience with these vs the pre-filled AUX and Aurus minisplits you can often find on Facebook marketplace in the south and southwest us states?

What do you mean short cycling? Running oversized units now...

Can any A/C pro explain if BTU's from one of these mini-split systems are comparable to the BTU's listed for standard window units?

E.g.
Is a new inverter based 9,000 BTU window unit going to perform on par with this 9,000 BTU mini-split?

Anything else, other than installation considerations, that helps distinguish them from one another?

Thanks!

Question here on sizing. I got the 1200 deal a few weeks ago. It's still on its way to the store for pickup.

1200 unit was $582

My room area is 270 sqft.

Price for this is only $30~ cheaper. But should I get this 9000 for my room size?

Is the 1200 overkill?

I had a 12000 btu installed about 3 months ago and it freezes on the inside unit occasionally. Any ideas? Local hvac said I was lookin at $350 for him to come and "probably fix it"

Is this WYT model better or worse than the more expensive WYS model? I heard that the WYT series are made by TCL and the WYS are made by Midea.
WYS might have higher heating capacity and slightly higher SEER, from reviews I have seen Pioneer mini split is useless for heating in very cold weather

Get the 208
Why are so many posts in this thread cryptic? Yes, the 208 is the same price but takes up more space in the panel and is less efficient. Only advantage I could see is that you can get away with running a smaller sized wire.

The computer board of the heat pump died in 2 years. Not worth repairing.
