I don't worry about Costco "supposedly" honoring the 8 year battery warranty. I've dealt with them for 20+ years, back when they were the "Price Club". Costco is one of the best retailers in the country. I have 7 GW 80V lawn tools, and have had to replace 3 batteries. I filled out the contact/service form and after providing the requested info, (date of purchase, serial numbers, sales receipts, etc) the batteries were replaced at no charge. I have found the tools themselves to be of reasonable quality (not "JUNK"). Probably not suited for a pro yardman using them 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. That's why a Toro commercial 21" SP mower sells for $1600+.
You seem very bitter, try using the contact form on the website, good luck to you.
It also has filing claim information and how to qualify

Look at the mower and the ecosystem (I'm not impressed with the blowers they offer, but the Costco one is 730cfm/170mph). What Hart equipment do you have & what/why do you want to replace it. How will a different battery ecosystem change that (The mower only should be relatively easy).
My biggest complaint about my current GW mower is the lack of headlights (Mowing at dusk is a big attraction).
There is a real benefit (and drawback) to higher voltage. The higher the voltage, the less amperage you need to get the same amount of power delivery. The issue here is that the loss is proportional to current squared. So if you double the voltage, you are essentially reducing the loss by a factor of 4 for the same amount of power delivery. That is why most of our electric grid is AC. AC can easily run through transformers to change the voltage and hence decrease the voltage and loss. So power coming out of the plants is at much higher voltage then what it is when delivered to us at our houses.
Simultaneously, a lower amp current will mean the battery will likely survive more charge/discharge cycles (albeit, ideally you only charge/discharge between 20 and 80% of capacity).
The big downside is that higher voltage is more dangerous. You are unlikely to feel or be affected by <40V on dry skin. A while ago, the car companies decided on a new power standard for cars, going from 12V to 36V -- it never really seemed to catch on, but the higher voltage meant less current and less losses (and the ability to deliver more power/torque to motors and solenoids). They chose 36V because that was what they felt was the maximum "safe" voltage. 80V will zap you, 40V probably won't.

for smaller stuff such as electronics, the price is almost always the same as instore with real free shipping.
The good thing is Costco will usually tell you when you are paying more for "free shipping". Simply look for this on the item website: "May be available In-Warehouse at a lower non-delivered price"
One more pro tip... when it comes to clothing, even if you see that it "May be available In-Warehouse at a lower non-delivered price", they sometimes run online only promotions where if you buy 10+ clothing items you get a discount. Then it gets a little more complicated and you have to compare the two prices to see what makes the most sense depending on if you actually need 10+ clothing items. Those bulk clothing discount promotions are online only.
