Great price but so not recommended because of the app that controls it. The latest update made this robot basically useless. Just read the reviews for the ihome clean app on whatever app store you use.

Unfortunately, I'm losing a lot of faith with iHome products. Just recently, iHome turned off the smart home functionality for all their smart plugs making them useless. It worked well for the past 4 years but now it's simply paper weights.

Huh, the latest update has been fantastic both ours. I will say that I did have to reset and re-add one of them to the app, but it picked up right where it left of with settings, map, and no-go zones.

Have this exact one cleaning as we speak. Highly recommend.

The app update has made it much better and more user friendly, though I did need to reset zones.

Only downside is no Alexa/Google integration to easily say "Alexa, clean the family room." That being said, I just setup different areas on schedules or use the iHome app.

Been using a wyze vac for the past half yar. It is very good, but having a small dust bin really limited its use. I kind of regret buying it for my elderly mom since she doesnt bother touching the robot. This robot seems like a good deal with lidar feature and self empty bin feature at this price point

Do you use it on carpet?
Mostly wooden floor. It cleans the rugs well with high-power setting on.

Zero awareness regarding its surrounding. The water moo feature is useless. If you have anything on the floor, it will go over it. The app seven months ago, when I tried, was less than desirable.
The tech for obstacle avoidance is pretty new and really not that impressive yet. You'll also end up spending 2-5x more money for it currently. I'm personally waiting longer till I worry about that feature and see how refined it gets.

The app is not great… but it could be worse. Biggest complaint is the frequent updates— every other time they push through an update I have to re-do my "zones" for area cleaning.

The current iteration of the app actually works decently well, but at this point I'm honestly just expecting them to break it with the next update.

The vacuum itself works pretty well, both on carpet and hard floors. I don't have pets, so take that review with a grain of salt if you do. But I got mine for like 250 last year, and for a bot with mapping and a self-empty base, I'm happy with the value. At this price I'd say it's worth a shot for sure.

I believe you're referring to small objects like pet toys, flip flops etc. I didn't pay attention to them honestly but it never got stuck trying to suck them so far. As for the bigger objects like chairs, coffee table etc no problem at all, it recognizes them very well from my experience.
I noticed it's having trouble with cables, and blocked those areas on the map.

Yep I concur with the above, same experience for me. If you want something that will avoid cables and small objects get ready to start paying $500+ for just a vacuum alone, they started making vacbot with that feature set which use both lidar and cameras and its not cheap!

Can you elaborate on why Wyze is so much better? I'm using Wyze at the moment but everyone is saying that self empty is worth the $15 extra on this vacuum.

Same here - I got wyze but thinking to get this instead because of the bin. Money ($15 lol) is not the issue here. Does it mop tile/hardwood OK?

The app is better, the build quality is better, the wyze is heavier and just gets around better.

I bought this the last time it was on sale and love it. For me the most recent update has made it much easier to set zones. I've experienced zero issues since the update.

pros:
better filter design, Wyze requires cleaning HEPA filter for every run. iHome has pre filter (just a sponge) before HEPA, so it dose not get dirty easily
auto dust bin is a plus.
mopping is GOOD, unless the sticky stain which requires $600+ robot like roborock S7
remote control
less noisy than wyze
ebay price is $170.

cons:
bad app
if it get stuck and you clear the stuck, it won't resume but restart.
switch from mop to auto or vice versa will not resume but restart.
difficult to detach mop pads for cleaning in washer machine. but you can just leave it on and hand scrub it with soap.

Then there's this too: ionvac SmartClean V4 – Self Emptying Robot Vacuum with Mapping https://www.walmart.com/ip/764133058

What's going on with these rollbacks on robot vacuums at Walmart?
I have pets and people with long hair. I'll still have to detangle hairs from it after every use.
So I'm not interested in paying for bags for the self-emptying feature.
I'm sure it's a fine vac, but neither of these will work for our house.
