Not sure about it yet, but will keep watching. Though I get the vibe that Rush is up to no good. The Lucian Alliance normally wouldn't be that stupid to attach an earth base with no real reward to them.

I think Rush might have tipped them off. He seems to really like the current situation.

I got the feeling that the Lucian Alliance attacking the base was simply a plot device and Rush is acting similarly to McKay. I get a hint of the ego and the importance of research over other things.

There were several plot devices - obviously. Their biggest problem was to introduce us enough to characters in these 90 minutes or whatever. The 9th chervon story was pure BS.
O'Neill looked about 10 years old and 50 pounds heavier Smilie

I never judge scifi tv series based off one episode. Before one judges it, at least 10 has to go by...

Give them a break for nowWink

I thought it was very good and am looking forward to the next episode. I have a theory about the whole Lucian Alliance attack, plot of the show, etc. but in case you don't want to know, I've put it into a spoiler.

Just watched the show, it has potential. I'm confused though, in the commercials you see Lou Diamond Phillips but I didn't see him in the pilot episode. I agree the story jumping forward and back is frustrating but how else are they going to introduce us to an entirely new cast and give us enough action at the same time to keep us interested.

I'm glad to have new episodes of SG.

So far it feels an awful lot like BSG. All dark with the time flashs. At least the scenes are bright. It doesn't have the playfulness of SG1, not unpleasant. Was suprised they didn't have Daniel Jackson's character there in person to kinda bridge the gap between old and new with regards to technology, although the tapes were a perfect substitute. It almost feels like this bunch of scientists know less than the previous group about gate travel. They were all new to the game, but what was happening to the Stargate program in between. There had to have been some ringers with a solid sense of how technology works or a system in place, so where are they? Not one of them get stuck with this 80 odd man group? I guess though SGA was pretty much all new faces going over the gate for the first time, but you could see the progression.
Ronald Grier reminds me too much of the guy with Roid Rage off of SGA, you know the one who was getting high on Wraith Venom. Both just make me wanna say "take a chill pill, dude" and can't someone with some influence keep this guy in check? Getting all up in Camile Wray's face doesn't sit well with me
(intimidating a woman).
I like that they added Lou Diamond Philips. Looking forward to find out what his character is all about.
If Rush is the most knowledgeable about the technology and flying the ship why is he going down with the first team to explore. What happens if he gets stuck there, then they are all gonna be in trouble big time on the ship, bad tactical management.. That and Rush's secret/personal agenda and relative uncaring attitude. You can't always like all the characters I guess.

Man I must have really missed Stargate. Problem with this is I have to wait a whole week to find out whats gonna happen next. I almost wish it was a mini-series instead so I could see all the way to the end of the story.

About Lou, his hair was shorter than normal, and his character was seen only briefly I think in part 2.

Well, now we know how Lou Diamond Phillips is going to be in it. I think it's a waste of a very good actor. He should have been the commander.

Wasn't as impressed by this hour as I was by the first two hours. It seemed very slow and rather a waste of time. Did anyone else notice at the end, the puddle jumper leaving the ship?

Was that a puddle jumper? I thought it may have been a stargate heading toward a new planet

This ship is very old so I think it's that styles version of a puddle jumper. The stargates were supposedly delivered by other drone ships before that ship arrived. They mentioned the other ships briefly in the pilot episode.

I actually found Air Part 3 to be almost boring. I know they are going for the character drama, but just walking in the sand is only so exciting, no matter how much the actors are emoting. Also, I am hoping "find resource X while racing the clock" isn't the fall back episode theme.
