Can't wait, have been needing a Stargate fix ever since SG Atlantis went off the air.

It is really sad when the most compelling character in the whole series is the dweeb on his 2nd day of work. If you would even call doing practically nothing and being such a eunuch in a stereotypical geek role as "work." I guess the show's creators decided to entirely gloss over any sort of plot creation, character development, military realism or training, or even believable characters. Combine that with the poor directing, acting, writing, pacing and basically everything else done on this show and I'm calling it. Cancelled in the second season.
Why the second season you ask? Because 'SyFy' will try and milk this franchise for all its worth instead of giving the network real material or credibility. FRAK YOU Dave Howe, NBC Universal and GE [nytimes.com]
Never again will this network allow the likes of Joss Whedon, Rockne. S O'Bannon, David Kemper, Ronald D. Moore, Daniel D'Or, Gene Roddenberry, Robert Hewitt Wolfe and others to do anything in the classic "Sci Fi" genre ever again without using a blender on it for the masses.

(Though, I should take a cue from the MST3K theme" "...And other science facts, Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show" I should really just relax.").

Like why in the world did Lt. Scott sleep with Chloe when they've been building Eli and Chloe this whole time. Then she says she's felt closer to him than anyone else when we haven't seen any bonding other than the "tell me about him" scene... And what happened to the relationship between Scott and the other army girl in the first episode? She's still around, does she just not care for some reason?
So what happened to the little pod thing that flew off the ship after episode 3? And what happened to the two people in that episode that went to a different planet?
Bah! I really am trying to enjoy this, but they just keep changing anything they want with no reason and no explanation. I'll watch for a little while longer, but it's slowly losing my interest.
the stone/speed of light/time shift crap?
why don't they use the stones to get tech help from Earth?
why can't a ship that can travel faster than light and can re-energize itself after 100,000+ years, fix it's own hull?
IMO, so far this has the making of another DS9.
Col. Young switched places with Col. Telford on Earth, when went out, mortgaged everything of Telford's, robbed a few banks, when went to Vegas and gambled the money away. Later when they switched back, Telford would be broke and on the run for bank robbery.
I should be a writer.

This is why I don't like soap operas. I like the shows where the good guys are good guys and the bad guys are the bad guys and they fight eachother. None of this good guys being bad guys crap. Hopefully the actual scientific fantasy stuff kicks in soon. Sofar they have just sat in front of a panel thing and said "nope, can't do that..." Here's hoping that Grizzley starts being a writer.
