No. Last year m1 MacBook Air was $750. If not urgent, I'd keep waiting until M2 air comes out. Will probably see better deals

It's never been $700.

It was $749 (via student discount) at Best Buy. Only once, one year ago, and for 36 hours.

I asked a Costco store rep if the Citi Costco card 4-year warranty applies for Apple products and I got a resounding NO. All other electronics and computers do get it but not Apple products. I did get a $80 discount on AppleCare for my 16" MacBook Pro M1 Pro which you MUST purchase in the same transaction if buying in Costco. So you cannot go back later to purchase Apple Care later. Costco does honor the 90-day return policy so if you didn't get AppleCare but are within the 90-day window you would have to return the laptop and purchase a new one with the AppleCare.

Apple has refurbs for $850 as well, along with a 16gb/512gb in stock right now for $1189. I don't think it's worth the difference for the extra ram/space though. Over $1250 out the door for that one.

Yes, low-end versions are pretty puny, but give it some hardware and it is a very capable platform for certain users that know what they're looking for.
