I love the $79 Lenovo for traveling with, or to keep around for guests who use the guest room. The $199 chromebook is bigger but still doesn't seem to have a fantastic screen though it is IPS at least. For $199 I feel like I'd hold out for something that comes along with a vivid screen.
The solution for getting more RAM into a Chromebook, or just getting a better selection of specs and price points to choose from, will be to buy a Windows laptop and put Chrome OS Flex on it.

It is not upgradable but seems 8GB is enough. My other Chromebook with 4 GB was only enough for 9 tabs to be open. It did 4K@30hz. Enough for me most of the time.
