The movements orient uses are solid, though maybe not *quite* as solid as the Seiko 5 (it's pretty close though.) I wouldn't let that be the determining factor though, because at the price the 5s and these come at, they're disposable. You're never going to have the movement serviced because it'll be nearly the same price to buy a new one. Accordingly, just worry about the looks. Which look do you like better?
Any deals on their Sun and Moon models?

Indeed. This is the only 3D dial in the series.

My 7 year old FDB08005W is still ticking. Paid $122 on Amazon
Looks like the movements are different, F6T22 vs 46A40, but I would expect a similar level of reliability.

Actually this is how I'd make my choice. Also I think the Seiko 5s look boring as hell. I think people WAY overhype them.

Only one of these watches are sapphire, the silver dial. Most orient watches are mineral crystals

I like those too. I was playing around with the codes and it looks like modesens10 code gets you $10 off the sun/moon watches. Not a slickdeal but its something. .

Any suggestion on this seiko open heart. Good deal for price? And how does it compare to these orient watches. Thanks

The ray 2 for about 120 is automatic and 200m wr….. seems like a better deal imho.
