I cannot recommend this product, even if it was free. It is a great product for its time and still usable, but the functionality of the newer Fire TV sticks is just night and day faster and more responsive. I'd almost say that the audio sounds better on my system, but that is probably just me hearing things.
There is also the issue that it is an outdated OS -- it won't be able to run apps that require newer versions of android. I don't mean gaming apps, but streaming apps. There is a cut off when they won't work and at six years, that is coming up soonish.
Saving a few dollars on things that one watches or listens to frequently is never a good investment. I'd only recommend this for an infrequently used device -- something in a guest bedroom perhaps, but even then....
Wait for Prime Day and get one of the newer models.

Can confirm. These were great for a while. But since a couple years ago, the software updates has made this pretty much unusable now.
Amazon will only give a $3 credit and 20% off coupon towards your next Fire TV device.
20% off on a $25 Prime Day Firestick is $5 + $3 TI credit= $8. So it's basically a push.
Trade-ins on other Categories like Paperwhites and Tablets can result in great deals.
I'm already planning on trading in my old HD 8 for the new model and it will cost me about $10 OOP to upgrade.
But the 20% Trade-in coupon only works on like products in the same category: E-readers, Tablets, Streaming media players, Echoes, Home Security,
