I spent hours on a ladder over two days painting my garage ceiling and it worked fine.
It is possible to fail in properly thinning your paint and making a drippy mess, and I dunno if it would give you a fine furniture finish, but for getting a coat of paint on stuff, the design works.
Mine had a much shorter hose with a shoulder strap. Probably better for elevated use.
