Best offer I got from Verde was $2298 with just the basic 1 year limited warranty . Buydig was just over $100 more , all in, with 4 year warranty. I wanted some protection on this. I have the 65" C1 and it is a bit unnerving how thin the screen is. That was my thinking at least. I also feel that all warranties are crapped on it seems. But, at least on paper, the Buydig warranty seems to check all the boxes for me.
The Buydig warranty is through cps, correct?

Google CPS warranty and look at the reviews on amazon.

I've never seen an entire first page of one star reviews.

Sure, I agree a 4 year warranty is certainly superior to a one year warranty. But if that four year warranty is worthless in practice..... ??

Depends on what you prioritize. If you have multiple HDMI 2.1 gaming consoles (PS5, XSX, PC) I'd go with the C1. If none of that matters to you, wait on the Sony. The Sony supports HDMI 2.1, but it's limited to HDMI ports 3(eARC), and 4. If you plan on using a sound bar or AVR, you'll either have to get a HDMI 2.1 compliant receiver for HDMI 2.1 passthrough, get a HDMI 2.1 switch, or run your audio through optical (not ideal). The Sony 77" will have better picture quality and it has a glossy finish unless the smaller A80Js that have a semi matte screen. Enjoy whatever you decide to get.
Ya you're advice is wrong tho because the c1 has evo panel - Sonys does not

You might want to check your info again. Some C1's have an Evo Panel, and the 77" A80J has an Evo Panel as well. The smaller A80J have a Semi Matte finish.

Buydig warranty is in name only...

Check reddit, cps denies claims all the time

So i paid, with taxes, $2416 at Buydig with 4 year warranty. Verde offered me $2298 no warranty though. Costco is $2546 with 3/5 year warranty and $100 streaming credit…..I think I'm ok with my purchase, right? I can't think clearly at this point. Also could save 10% at Amazon using my Rewards card but their warranty is $189 and is terrible (doesn't cover cracked screen etc unlike Buydig's)
Buy digs warranty is junk too

Almost all these extended warranties are garbage ...just google folks who try to submit claims.

Cps is one of the worse, not worth paper it prints on. Best bet is Costco, geeksquad, or a g1 with LGs coverage to be honest

Why is anyone getting this through Buydig?

I'm genuinely curious. It's cheaper with no tax for most of us on verde.

Was just googling about the CPS warranty, and it sounds like it's complete garbage.

Is there something I'm missing?
Nope you nailed it.

Folks just incorrectly believe these extended warranties are real bc they read other people talking about it.

Best bet is Costco, geeksquad, or a G1 with the 5 year earranty directly from LG if you really need a warranty

I have the 77 and the 55, love them both, but the auto-dimming really males some movies/shows unwatchable (Ozark, Dune, Book of Boba Fett, and most dark HDR/Atmos movies). Just be aware of the issue and know you can buy a service remote for $8 from Amazon to turn this function off.

People on AV forums have been walking owners through this issue (and the potential warranty/burn-in risk) for years. Something to be aware of. Great TV.

All 77" and 83" C1s have the Evo panel. It is the 65" and below where you won't know unless you are able to check the box or have a service remote and can check if the box isn't available.

Yeah, if you are able to go with Costco and the price is close, I'd go with Costco. Customer service has always been top notch whenever I needed it.
