I have had that happen with my bike's hydraulic brakes. Didn't know its true for mechanical spring loaded ones as well.

Edit: from prior comments it seems this on got hudraulic as well.
Yes, surprisingly at this price point! Still regret not buying it for my friend in need of an MTB. Mechanical disc brakes do not need the tabs.

Awesome! Save that tab. Whenever you need to remove the wheels (front or rear) to work on your bike, you should insert that tab back in. You don't want to accidentally squeeze the brake levers when you have the wheels off without that tab, or you'll need to use a flat head screwdriver to carefully spread the brake pads apart.
One more question. The rear chain doesn't seem to be on any of the gears. What is the best way to align this?

Great price but man... their warehouse needs some improvements. Took over 3 days to just get it processed for Fedex pickup. This is why Amazon rules distribution. My order has been pushed to 7/11 for delivery from 7/6.

Start with these 2 videos and be patient:

How to Adjust a Front Derailleur [youtu.be]
How to Adjust a Rear Derailleur [youtu.be]

One main reason MTB/gravel riders upgrade to 1x (one by) drivetrain is to simplify the derailleur adjustments. This bike can be upgraded to 1x later, but would require upgrading the rear hub/wheel. There's nothing wrong with 3x drivetrain on this bike. In my opinion, 1x is more of a quality-of-life upgrade, others might tell you 1x also saves weight.

Did your bike come with hydraulic or mechanical brakes?

I think my derailleur hanger is slightly bent from shipping so I ordered another one to have on hand for about $17 shipped. Here's a link to the hanger:

Just finished putting my bike together and rode around a bit. Derailleur definitely needs adjusting. Making gear noise. Bars are too wide for me. Sadly, while I'm 5-9, the frame is a little too big. Standing over the bar, my junk definitely has to be on either side of the bar. Rats. I ordered the 18" which was model # 742420. Oh...and for those that care either way, no kickstand of any kind. And I guess the front suspension needs adjusting. Way too soft out of the box. There is a very small dent underneath the bottom bar. Must be from shipping. I wish the bike had come in silver. The black paint is easy to scuff.

Mine seems to be hydraulic brakes as it has a place for mineral oil near the brake lever on the handlebar.

This is exactly right. The brake lever reads "MINERAL OIL" in between 2 screws.

Got home and saw delivery. It has huge holes on one side. Peaked in and see bent disc brake. Sigh. What should I do? I haven't opened to see the rest of it.

Not sure how the warranty works. But if you need to pay shipping, it would be cheaper to just replace the disc yourself. Discs on budget bikes like this are dirt cheap and easy to replace, assuming only disc(s) are damaged and nothing else.
