There is a plastic tab in that disc brake assembly. Pull it out.

Just got mine today! Took me about 30 minutes to put it together without any issue, despite having no instructions. My wife got the Mongoose gravel bike deal a few weeks ago, so I already knew how to assemble from that one. The brakes need adjusting, but the shifting is perfect, right out of the box. I think for $179 it's a great deal, but if you were able to get it for the $125, it was absolutely screaming.

Anyone know how to adjust the brakes? The front drags on the left pad a bit, and neither the front nor the rear engage all that tightly.

I finally had some time to put this thing together. All the posts in here talking about how it was delivered damaged got me worried. Assembly of the 20 inch was straight forward, took it for a test ride and this thing rides like a dream! so nice to be able to ride again after not owning a bike for years, really put a smile on my face.

I think i do need to change up the handlebar location, it's placed a bit too forward for my liking, and a kick stand would be nice to add as well.

There are other mentions of this pages back, but the only hydraulic brake adjustment you can do is to loosen the caliper mounting bolts slightly, squeeze the brake effectively centering the caliper over the rotor, tighten the bolts while squeezing the brake. Several YT videos, but it's really as simple as this.

Does anyone see rear rack mounts either higher or lower. I'll have to get a seat post mount with lower clamp ons worse case.

So I opened it up pretty good and now realizing I have a bent rotor 🥲. So it rubs no matter how I adjust the brakes by unscrewing the bracket. Bummer!

You can' get a two pack of low end rotors on Amazon for $12. If camping world gives you a discount like they did for someone else on here, your golden.

Btw if not mentioned already, I usually check wheel bearings to see if they roll smooth and tightened correctly. I've had so many Walmart bikes with over tightened bearings. I usually grease with the good stuff before first ride cause it's so much easier without sand and dirt all over.

I was on backorder for the 20", just got a FedEx tracking number today, very totally unexpected, I was ready for the cancellation, sweet! It's great that y'all have been posting all of this great info on building and troubleshooting, it looks like whatever problems I might have are already solved, y'all rock!

EDIT: One thing I am thinking is upgrading the fork... and the handlebars. I need lockout or at least better damping, and yeah that handlebar looks like it will make it difficult to ride in a more relaxed position when resting... anyone do that here with this bike yet?

I've already upgraded the fork on my bike. I got this fork:

i have really bad lower and upper back problems, and the bike out of the box destroyed my neck. I have had radiofrequency ablation on both left and right on my lower back on 4 vertebrae's and 3 or 4 vertebrae's on my left side next but not on my right side. I just dont know how people ride in a position where their head is towards the bike or ground. riding for an hour and having to look up to see oncoming traffic or people just destroyed my neck. I bought the matching stem riser and adjustable stem that i use on my electric bike, and i will install it tomorrow and let you guys know how i like it. Also my moustache bars come tomorrow so i should have the revamped bike complete to my liking. I got the stem shim in order to use my suntour seatpost suspension post and it was really nice, but i couldn't ride long because of my really bad neck/right arm pain.

Got my 20'' today, box arrived perfect, no damage. After assembly, besides both breaks, found the rear derailleur also need adjustment, making noise and not reaching lowest gear. Followed youtube link provided by chung_chang, now perfect ( just turning the barrel adjuster counter clockwise several turns).

The size is perfect for me, love the bike, and just ordered another 18''!

Thanks for all the tips and information here, you guys are the best!
