I've looked at other brands, and walked away laughing -- Craftsman, Husky, Hart, etc are flimsy wanna-be boxes. Even some of the DeWalts fall into this bucket too. Thin, cheap plastic, lots of twisting & bending, and the worst of which -- terrible latches. They're not worth it. And they're priced too close to Ridgid to be competitive as a bargain option.
If you aren't a professional contractor hauling around the maximum weight limit of these boxes every single day in adverse conditions -- save your cash and buy Ridgid. Using arbitrary figures -- Ridgid is about 90% of the Milwaukee quality for half the price.
If you're a serious contractor where money isn't an object...when "you absolutely can't have something fail" -- look at Milwaukee. It's a better build quality, but with diminishing returns. They can hold a lot more weight, take a lot more abuse. They exude a premium fit and finish....with quite a few case options to choose from. If I was professional, I'd go with big red and not look back.
But if you're a weekend warrior/homeowner/casual repairer -- big red is spending a premium for something you're probably never going to take advantage of. Ridgid and Milwaukee will hold up equally fine under the same average conditions. Save your cash and buy two oranges instead of one red. Or put that cash into actual tools.
Ridgid is the sweet spot in tool cases right now. And if they're on sale, you can't go wrong.

Or rather, it depends heavily what you plan on putting in it. I am using this for home electrical supplies and tools, which is a bunch of different and mostly bulky cutters, pliers, and wire strippers, so this one works better for me.
Either way the Hart is sold out within 100miles of me and I'm sure you'd be happy with either.
Thought the lower prices would continue through 4th of July.

I do like the Milwaukee stuff better, and will upgrade if I catch them at a good price but the Ridgid cant be beat for value compared to everything else out there. They do outgas, so I always leave them open outside for a day or two which helps a lot.
Lastly, inspect the boxes before you buy, ever so often the gasket might be deformed or lid doesnt close properly. Seen it 3 or 4 times. And I had one replaced under warranty when it started to deform after 3 or 4 months.

According to the paperwork taped on the display it said to keep it up through 7/24/22.
I think they're doing it this way so they don't have to SHIP them anywhere for that price, because then they'd be losing money .

Having a bunch of Ryobi cordless tools, has anyone ever seen there equivalent item(s) on sale?
Again, thanks!
They come in about a dozen different sizes, with four rolling options, and integrate with toolbags, parts organizers and backpacks. You can configure a stack any way you want to and the 3D printing crowd has dozens of available brackets, upgrades, and storage solutions that seamlessly integrate with them.
They are more expensive, but not 4x the cost. The standard 3-piece stack sale price is typically $200, compared to $100 for these little Ridgids. If you move your tools around a lot, the Packouts are probably worth it, while an average homeowner would probably be fine with the Ridgids if the available sizes fit your needs.
