Not to me at all when using the trimmer actually especially when using the supporting strap. I use the 5ah in my massive yard when the 8ah finally gives up and can detect no difference in weight with that configuration.

You're correct about the weights. A, XC 5.0 is 1.8#. A HO 8.0 is 2.33 #. I'm thinking a half # is not noticeable.
The real difference is what is in the packs. The 5.0 are 18650 cells, 90Wh, and the HO packs are 21700 cells, 144Wh.
Interestingly, the HO 6.0 is a 21700 cell too. 108 Wh?
