Anyone use as a giant PC monitor?

over a year use, no burn in.

use it for work and gaming.

static web pages on it most days, no burn in...

people still talking burn in 2022 have no clue or seriously just have their monitor on 24/7 with a static image at the brightest setting.

It's Gsync compatible but just have to be careful with burn in using it as a computer monitor

Anyone happen to have both this and a c2 42"? My local best buy has an open box geek squad certified 42" for $1250 that I'm considering. Currently have a Samsung 27" 1440p space monitor that I'd mount vertically as a secondary monitor

I wouldn't trust Open Box from Best Buy on a TV. I've read too many bad stories.

Bestbuy will price match microcenter $999 on the LG C1 55"

Will they price match if you don't have a microcenter in your area?

I tried to buy an open box 65 inch C9 from Best Buy. Got home and realized they sold me an open box B8. Called the store to (politely) complain, and ended up getting a brand new C9 for the open box price. That was a great bit of luck early in the pandemic.

I use this TV as an Xbox and PC monitor. It has a burn in preventing cycle you can run plus screen saver and auto dimming. I have not needed to run the maintenance cycle yet, 2 yrs almost daily use. Super TV and 120Hz picture for gaming.
How does this work, I have fixed things on screen such as a terminal, a messenger (i.e. Slack). They're always pretty much in the same position. While the contents change, the frames are always in the same spot. What runs the burn in preventing cycle, the TV itself? What is it officially called and how do you use it as part of your workflow?

Main drawback is you have to be sitting far away, the screen is still that big and bright and it will raise the temp slightly in the room. I invested in a wireless keyboard, mouse and lapboard that I use from my chair.
How far away do you have to be sitting? My desk is deep enough to handle at least 2.5-3 feet if I basically put it all the way at the back.

Excellent for PC setup

If you want a bigger screen above or next to your main monitor, this is it. If you go any bigger, it gets to be too much. OLED isn't a gimmick, its a game changer, especially with dark games or games where you really want color to pop.
How would you put this next to a monitor? I'm asking because of the sizes involved. My IPS monitor is already 27", I just don't see how I could use it plus the 48" OLED — help me see the light! (:

The burn in issue when it comes to hooking TVs up to a PC is of course real. There are many many ways to safeguard from this ever happening from having the back of the TV wallpaper (if used as an extended desktop) always black, to use a screen saver, dont have a toolbar on it, etc. Basically it's your playing a game or watching TV - TV. And of course these TV's are suitable for gaming, in fact its the primary goal they focus on, getting faster chips, with higher refresh rates, better lighting, etc etc etc.
Can you provide your thoughts on my questions to tonymontana above re: burnin prevention? I would primarily use this for work with some occasional gaming, I'm trying to picture what the workflow is to prevent burnin.
Quote from tonymontana444 :
Oh and to add the screensaver has nice art that looks like a print w frame and bezel when mounted on the wall (famous art paintings). Cool feature for me because I like looking at art
Is this built in? Can you provide it your own pics on a network share?

was debating on getting a 3070/80 to upgrade my PC, but ended up splurging on this instead. my TVs are 8 yr old 42' LED LGs, due for an upgrade. I seen these on display at a B&M, and holy shit the contrast/true blacks is jaw dropping. Probably could have went for the 55" but i am saving 300 over that, unlike not so long ago where 48 and 55 OLEDs where the same price

To clarify, I checked closer and I have the LG 48CX but it seems like a similar TV with OLED 120Hz 4k. So my apologies, this is for the LG 48CX.

You have to manually start the pixel refresher cycle, it will run when you turn the TV off. I do it once a month but you can run it once a week, don't see why not.

In addition to the pixel refresh cycle the TV has optional screen shift, "screen shifts at regular time intervals" and an option for logo luminance adjustment where it will "adjust the luminance of static images such as logos".

No way to add to the screen saver images that I see.

Mine is wall-mounted slightly higher than a desk monitor. I measured I'm four feet away and about a 1/2 ft below.
