All I care is my son can call me when he needs and vice versa. What I don't want is my son would use it for playing video games, chat with friends unnecessarily or watch YouTube. What do you propose?

It may be too late but it's worth a try. You will have to contact customer support and tell them you had a referral when joining the rewards program that you couldn't enter correctly. Give them the info below and see if they can still get it entered and credit for it.

Does anyone know if this is locked to CDMA or can it be used with tracfone GSM??
My parents have Tracfone and CDMA does not work in their area, only GSM but I have not been able to find a GSM Tracfone flip phone that works with 4G.
Any help or ideals is appreciated.

Is this the type of thing you can leave turned off and in the car for emergencies? And do you need the internet to activate it? Or could it sit in the car indefinitely until said emergency, whenever that is, and be activated at that point with the 365-day clock starting also?

Can someone help me with what may need to be done. So my mom is her in 80's and only uses flip phones. AT&T recently had her go with a 4G phone and ditch her old 3G flip phone, but the new flip sucks, she can't seem to use it as well. I know the OP said 61 days to unlock after harvesting the account. Is there anything I can do? Like I don't want the account or airtime, just to use the phone on AT&T. Anybody have any suggestions what the easiest way to go about this is?

The phone will be unlockable after 61 days of service if you don't transfer the service away from the phone before then (for harvesting purposes). After 61 days you can get the codes on the website but you have to enter them on the phone to unlock.

I am doing similar things on a different deal where I activate the phone on new lines (so you will get 8k for the new referral) without ever opening the box. 61 days in when both the points have vested and the phone is eligible for unlock will use the points, open the phone for unlock and then either sell or give away the phone as mint condition.

What do people here plan to do with this? I can only think of keeping it as a backup in case my normal phone dies, but it sounds like it's not unlockable for 60d anyway.

This phone has not been white-listed by AT&T so you should skip this deal. Look for deals on Alcatel MyFlip 2. It's on the AT&T whitelist.

so this phone comes with 1200 minutes that expire in 1 year? or do you have 1200 minutes a month? Also that 30 dollars pays for the phone along with the 1 year of service? Would make a good emergency phone for a small kid
