Chatted with customer care and got them to give me an additional 5% off (Verify ID).......couldnt use Paypal with Discover (5% back this Qtr) because Lenovo site is not working with Paypal #$%!
Had the same issue. Turns out my Discover card was not up-to-date in Paypal (had a fraudulent transaction in the past and Discover sent me a new card with a new card number, but I forgot to update it LMAO). After removing and re-adding the card in Paypal, Lenovo took it with no complaint Smilie

Damn it. Too late for me now since I already bought one but I'm going to do that so I can start using PayPal without problems.
Thanks

Yes. And not sure you need confirmation from here. You can just add that to your cart and try these two coupons and see.

Mine will be here in a couple days. I'll come back here with some thoughts after I put it through some paces lol.
Curious to hear your first impressions, esp. regarding fan noise in normal use (after the usual updates have run their course).

Also: Which brand is the wi-fi chip? It's soldered, so I'm concerned about wifi reliability if it's anything other than Intel.

Any Idea if this has expandable storage slots inside the cpu for another ssd?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z...Ej0&t=269s

yes - looks like the unit in ETA Prime's video takes a full size 2280 NVMe SSD, though it is using what looks to be a 2242 half-size drive with an adapter. It's nice to see that they still kept space for a full size drive despite OEM's moving to smaller form factors to reduce costs and save board real estate.

Chatted a rep and got a quote for $816. Hopeful the 12% CB offered at a certain site works on it, giving me a total post taxes and shipping price around $760 I was tempted to use the 5% Discover PayPal bonus, but decided using an Amex to double the warranty to 2 years with accidental damage included seemed worth paying an extra 4%.

Hopeful it will be a good replacement to an overheating/crashing Vostro 7500, but 30 day free returns makes me feel OK at least giving this laptop a shot. Repped!

So fan noise is there but only during bios update that was waiting in the Lenovo vantage app. And anytime I'm in bios settings the fan runs. I'm also having trouble finding if the tuv blue light thing is hardware or software. The think pad E15 I bought a few days ago is a software solution. The Dell Inspiron 5310 is hardware.

So right now I have my Dell 5310, hp envy 13ba1093, this thinkbook, and the E15 thinkpad testing boot up speeds. And the hp envy destroys everything in boot up time. I went through all of them to make sure none of them were cheating with fast boot or fast startup. The envy boots first, then the E15, then the Dell, and this thinkbook lags behind all of them!
How the heck can the laptop with the fastest chip and 6800 (think pad has 5600, dell has 12th gen intel and envy has 11th gen all have 16gb ram with the hp having the slowest) be the slowest to boot?? Lord lol I am disappointed and my gf with her hp is gloating.

Anyway I'm keeping it. The Lenovo keyboard feels so much better than the dell. The whole thing feels better.

Anyway just thought I would update you guys. The screen looks good, fan noise is low or off during normal use. You can charge thru either c port even tho only the back one shows a power plug icon.

does the fan fully turn off when plugged in on idle? the previous gen never turned off even unplugged. Previous generation kept on spinning up and down which was very annoying

Turns fully off. I have two tabs open with Edge running and mcafee in the background. At one point I picked it up and held it to my ear and to my surprise the fan was spinning very quietly. But as I held it, it turned off. I plugged it in and used it for a few more minutes and the fan was off.

So it looks like it will spin up from time to time but the the tv on I didn't even hear it.

I have the gen 3 and I really like the performance and quality build of the thinkbook. I hated the fans though. I'm hoping they also apply a firmware update to match this gen 4 fan profile.

Rtx 3050 is way more powerful than any integrated GPU,even the most powerful 680M in this one. So, gaming or any applications which can take advantage of the GPU acceleration, Swift X with its rtx 3050 ti will always perform better.
Yes if you don't care about weight. Heck you can probably do even better than that if you get a 7.5 lb laptop.

As someone who was looking at the Ideapad 5 Pro with the Ryzen 7 5800, how does this laptop compare? Other than the smaller screen size?
