HP Pavilion Aero on sale after coupon code
HPBBQ5 with the following configuration(s). Coupon code is only valid $600+.
- AMD Ryzen™ 5 5625U (up to 4.3 GHz, 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 threads) + AMD Radeon™ Graphics + 16 GB(Onboard)
- 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
- 13.3" diagonal, WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, 400 nits
- +$30 upgrade to 13.3" diagonal, WQXGA (2560 x 1600), IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, 400 nits
- 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 2.1; 1 AC smart pin; 1 headphone/microphone combo[19]
I think for $30 the screen upgrade is a pretty nice although the benefit may not be huge since at the screen size the PPI is already high at 1200p.
The deal is even better if you have a first reponder/nurse/health provider discount through ID.me. Total will be around
$570 for the upgraded model with 2560x1600 screen, but you need a filler to get to over $600 to use the 5% off coupon. A couple options below
- Backlit keyboard upgrade for $20: Final price is $579.49 after coupon
- Upgrade Wifi card to Wifi 6 for $10: Final price is $569.99 after coupon
- Add two mousepads https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...e-pad-100: Final price is $571.80
This laptop is sort of comparable to the
Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro at Costco for $550+$10 shipping spec wise except the Ideapad has a larger SSD at 512gb. The Aero M.2 can be upgraded.

- The chassis feels sort of flimsy. It's to be expected at such a light weight, but keep it in mind.
- There are these horrible, cheap flip-down covers on one or two of the ports that are just begging to snap off
- Speakers are so bad they should be illegal
- The trackpad is pretty mediocre
Good machine overall, but do keep in mind it isn't a "premium" machine.

No this is more for productivity
Sincerely appreciate it!
The clear advantage of this laptop would be the 16GB RAM, which is the biggest (only?) knock against the Asus. My research suggests the Asus has a slightly faster CPU [cpubenchmark.net]. Would it come down to personal preference of the HP's 400 nit matte IPS vs the 600 nit glossy OLED screen on the Asus, or is the Asus display going to objectively better? Anything else I'm overlooking on the comparison?
Thanks!
