It's about an ice cream salesman who goes to the north pole to sell his wears. However on the way there his ice cream melts and he gets eaten by cannibals. A moving and uplifting story.

This transfer has Dolby TrueHD 2.0 Mono audio which will work those subs so hard you won't even hear them once throughout the entire movie

Are you sure it's not a documentary about cereal or a board game?

Thanks, I am a sucker for Steelbooks and I know it's purely silly to " collect " them but I do! And I had this already in the Blu-Ray edition that included both B&W and colorized if I wanted that… which I don't. So at this price for 4K with a steelbook I don't have yet… weekend is off to a good start!

EDIT… I see this version does include the colorized on the BD, just not in 4K, which would have required another disc.. and also raise the question " why? " .
You are trying to get the cleanest original film image possible, and then you run it through some 1990s-era Turner movies colorize processor?
Because some of us who grew up with black and white are sick to death of it. In fact I am even sick of standard definition television, I won't watch anything anymore unless it's HD (at least 720p) and widescreen. It's not that I'm a snob about it (well maybe I am), but my parents kept their old black and white TV for about ten years after everyone else had color. I had to go to a friend's house if I wanted to see color TV. So I just really started to hate black and white TV, and would rather watch even a badly colorized version of a movie than the original black and white. And if I could watch a movie in color or in HD, one or the other but not both, I'd probably pick a different movie but it it were one or the other I'd still pick the color version. I figure there must be enough people who feel the same way, and that is why they include the colorized version.

There are people who like watching old movies or 50's/early 60's TV shows in black and white, and there are people who like listening to scratchy vinyl records, and I respect that, everyone has different preferences. But colorized movies and TV shows, and digital remakes of old analog albums exist because a lot of people do not find those things enjoyable. That's why.

Lol. Literally.

Major spoilers ahead:

The story follows a man who repeatedly makes the right choice for the good of others at the expense of himself.
Eventually, he is essentially robbed during an audit and is about to be arrested.
Frustrated, he goes to a bridge and contemplates suicide.
His guardian angel (literally) jumps into the river instead, forcing this man to once again put someone else first and rescue him.
Angry, the man laments that he wishes he had never been born.
The Angel grants the wish and reality changes to reflect the new timeline.
The man gets to experience the town, it's inhabitants, and his friends (who no longer recognize him due to him essentially being erased from existence) and comes to know first hand just how much of a positive impact he's had on the town.
This includes things like the pharmacist becoming a beggar, his brother dying, his wife becoming an old spinster, and worse.

Instead of being disgruntled, the man becomes super grateful.

I won't spoil how the story wraps up so as to encourage you to watch it.

I definitely recommend watching this movie. It's my favorite movie and one I watch every year around Christmas. Even if you don't buy this deal, the movie's on Amazon Prime Video. Go watch it! Oh, and make sure to watch the black and white one. The colorized version is good but it's just off somehow.

Sorry, I can't find the info in the description, but do the discs come with B&W or colorized? Would prefer the B&W...

EDIT - comments indicated both colorized & B&W.

However it looks as if this is the edited version, not uncut.

Yeah, they took out all the swear words, the gratuitous violence, and the brief nudity...

FWIW, I literally laughed out loud at the guy with "SARCASM" written large in his profile pic assuming he was being sarcastic about having not seen a movie I've probably seen more times than any other movie in my life aside, perhaps, White Christmas, both of which were played incessantly throughout my childhood and which I saw more often incidentally than intentionally. My laughter was not a knock on this film - which is morally edifying and entertaining simultaneously (a near-impossible feat). I do find it obscene to think about how many copies in various formats of this film I have encountered in thrift stores and flea markets and yard sales throughout my still relatively short lifespan. I think I have even been gifted at least half a dozen copies in different formats myself. Boggles my mind how much waste we make reprinting things for that little bit of "extra" every time a new level of tech hits. But what can you do? Gotta immanentize the eschaton somehow.
