I think this is another one of those Costco-unique model numbers. Anyone know what it's equivalent to?
Electronics manufacturers like to do that so they don't have Costco competing with their regular retail stores, or the stores will demand the same item deal.
I have a new Samsung TV and was looking for Q-Symphony e-ARC and Dolby Atmos. This does indeed have Q-Symphony but might wait it out for something with Dolby Atmos (and maybe e-ARC), that won't cost huge amounts.
Isn't this configuration a little strange, offerring "5.1" without 2 rear speakers? Simulated I suppose, but I don't think it would have the same result.
An commenter noticed theirs connected as "Samsung Q60T". It's a very similar soundbar. They're almost identical except for a very small differences. Looks like the Q6T is one year older and a tiny bit better. https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/t...shold=0.10
I think soundbars are all being uprgraded at the moment to support newer features that are being demanded by more recent buyers of large TVs. There will be an ongoing clearout of the older models that don't support things like Dolby Atmos.

I bought this last month and can confirm it does have eARC. I also bought it for $219 from Costco and submitted a pricing adjustment, hopefully I'll get back $70!

Any of the sound dropout issues noted from others?

I didn't have any dropouts but I could never get a consistent volume. Whether I was switching videos on YouTube or Netflix, or watching TV, I was constantly adjusting the volume because it was too soft or too loud. There was no way to get an idea of a good general volume level. It was upgrade over my cheap Vizio 2.1 sound bar but I returned it.

I think a few commenters said similar things. Maybe it's how Samsung's audio processing responds to different audio formats. For example, one show may be in Dolby Atmos, another in DTS-X, Dolby Digital, another in Dolby Surround, whatever. (I'm not an expert.) So manually adjusting to one might given completely different results for the next title recorded differently. Hence the feeling of inconsistency of response. It even has another setting "Auto-volume mode". Wondering if you had tried that one, or maybe that was the problem. I don't think it's Standard Mode is very good, except when sending music via bluetooth from your phone.
Did you use it with a Samsung TV? If so, just wondering if 'adaptive sound' helped or hindered. Did you try Q-Symphony mode to help boost a center channel (talking).
Did you try playing with the different sound modes to get better results?
I'm just wondering if some of the returns are due to challenges in getting just the right setting. Sadly, that may mean constantly adjusting modes, etc., when changing sound imputs or even channels (ugg).

Are you absolutely sure it has an eARC HDMI port? I could swear that it was just a regular ARC HDMI port in the feature list. Even the manual says "ARC", not "eARC" (along with photos). RTINGS.com says "No e-ARC" too.
If you indeed see "eARC" on the input label, can you double check your model number on the back to be sure we're talking about the same exact model.
Yes I do have a Samsung TV and I did try the different modes. I don't remember seeing anything about an adaptive sound option. The constant adjusting was definitely not worth it. The sound quality was good enough for me. It's too bad for that issue.
Picked this up last month on their sale at 199.99.
Didn't get any drops.
Can't get consistent volume from switching apps/players and sound quality is less than impressive to me at a $450 tier.
Taking this back to Costco this week because of it.

Just curious if you were using it with a new Samsung Q-series TV or other Samsung TV model. They sometimes have an "Adaptive Sound" setting that might be better or worse, I'm not sure. Has to be a reason why it's happenning to you and others. I'm thinking it's a settings or software thing that's making the bar constantly tinker whereas the regular TV volume doesn't.
Did you upgrade to the latest firmware? I thought I read that there were earlier firmware issues.
Did you experiment with all the different sound modes (Standard, Game, etc.)?
I wonder why this Costco clearance item also comes with an expiration date:

It's not going back to a higher price. Soundbars seem to be clearing out everywhere for newer models. It seems that the soundbar industry went from too few to too many as a result of the supply chain slingshot. People bought a lot of TVs recently which came with newer features (e.g. Atmos). Soundbars with those features are going for significantly more so all suppliers will want to take advantage of those larger profit margins.
Seems like a great deal that the equivalent model Q60T is selling for $350 at Amazon now. If you read the description and specs, the 2 models are almost identical.
At $150 it comes with wireless sub, HDMI, mounting kit, it's worth a try, worst case send back to Costco.
That's the better part of this deal. If anyone looks at other lower-end Samsung soundbar deals in SD, they'll see that they often come with many quality issues. After looking at many Samsung soundbar deals, it's difficult to compare Samsung models. Although the feature sets may be similar, some models have very differernt quality experiences, depending on their production runs.
You're right that Costco also gets a unique model deal so that Samsung doesn't anger the other retailers on pricing. But sometimes it's not a perfect equivalent.
It'll be interesting to see if this soundbar sells out, or drops more in price to a lower clearance level (depending on sales).

True, a bunch of poor reviews on Samsung's own site:
