With a little bit of techy work (following some directions at XDA) you can convert the 8T from T-Mobile to Unlocked and keep Updates and everything working as normal. For whoever doesnt mind doing so that is.

You can easily unlock te 8t just calling T-Mobile a they unlock, just need to wait at least 24 hours before the call look on YouTube for a video
