I have a really hard time assessing the quality of 3rd party solar cells but I also need something that is just under 60" which is hard to find.

I bought four of these panels for the Bluetti AC200p I bought last week. While I would LOVE to go all solar for my home, the reality right now is I am more interested in having something portable that I can also use for when the power goes out and I want to keep some basics running around the house.
180w panels are the highest I have seen for this form factor, sure you can get much higher output from other panels but having them shipped costs a small fortune and generally requires a minimum of 5.

It's real close the biggest for free ship. HD has the nature power 215 watt for about the same price a few times a year shipped, but beyond that UPS/Fedex are going to have to re-evaluate their max package size. FREIGHT SUCKS! Smilie

Anyone got a good calculator or something to help figure out how many watts I need? Figuring out size/system needs has been challenging

You can probably look at your electricity bill to find out how many kilowatt/ hours you use for the month. It might be easier than using a calculator.
We have a 6600 watt system at home with battery and it keeps our fridge, chest freezer, and couple of outlets on during power outage so we can use our microwave and electric kettle and internet working without any problems.
It really depends on how many appliances, laptops, lights to begin to figure out how many watts you need along with the proper inverter and battery storage.

Another example, I had a power outage once and I have a Bluetti solar generator/ storage with 1700 watt hours (it was like $1500 couple years ago). I used it for my computer, monitors and desk lamp during a power outage for work and it lasted the 3 to 4 hours I needed to work with a out 30% remaining. It really depends on what you need your system to do.

Is there a good user group or forum to know which panels to look at and compare what is out there VS price

US DoE National Renewable Energy Lab has/had a great software download that had a database of panels and inverters and helped calculate the size of a system and how much power it could generate based on the solar irradiance of your location in the US.

Haven't looked in a while if they still have it but they at least have the PVWatts calculator which does some of same thing in browser. Not sure if it has database and costs estimators. https://pvwatts.nrel.gov/pvwatts.php
