with a 2 year warranty and certified from seagate
I don't care if it's 10 or even a 20 year warranty.

If that drive crashes, best case is that you can restore off a online backup like backblaze but that still means you need to buy another 18TB drive to restore while you send the refurb back to seagate for repairs.

IYHO. If $/TB is your only consideration, perhaps, not factoring in other people's brand preference, appetite for refurbished HDDs, or shorter warranty.
Good to highlight other options for sure, but if you're going to claim something is a better deal, explain why.

Is 15.88 pretax a decent amount for 18tb? Last I paid was 14.28 for 14tb but that was November last year.

How did you find and apply your Amex offer?

Forgive my ignorance but... looking to back up a ton of pics/videos onto something physical. Would something like this just get plugged into my older devices to transfer pics? Guessing I can also download cloud stuff directly also?

Looking for a permanent safe device to store memories after loosing a device (physical damage) I naively didn't have backed up. Lesson learned.

Thank you!
