I have several of these. Price hasn't really dropped much over ~3 years. HDD industry needs more competition as 18TB drives should be down to ~$149 at this point.

But to be fair, this is a decent drive at a lower than typical price.

Western digital has a 20tb elements for 280 which is about 14/tb before taxes

I just bought the 20TB Elements drive. Seemed like a better deal to me, but it is only USB 2.0.

I left this on my cart (2x) while researching what drives were inside and low and behold, I got an email for the 2 d20tb drives plus a unique 15% off code. So 375 before tax etc. Email was w days later o think. So thank you for your suggestion and my procrastination.
