Had a 5000 that I got from Vitamix directly. It was reconditioned and came with the same warranty. It lasted 15 years!

About six months ago, It started pulsing/surging and they sent me a kit to try to fix it at no charge! (I was floored)!!! Unfortunately, no success; so, I bought a new Vitamix.

I decided to go with the A3500 and really like it. The main reason(s) I went with it are the one-touch cleaning feature as well as the pre-programmed settings (I make a LOT of smoothies). I don't have to monitor it. Just set it and you don't have to do anything but pour it out when it stops.

The narrower container is better and doesn't cavitate like the wide base version, but is taller.
