People say "oh it's been fixed in newest models" (which this is not anyway) but conveniently Rtings hasnt tested those lol. Rest assured it's not fixed, MAYBE made lesser. One of the only new model fixes I read about was software to make static logos 20% dimmer after a certain period of time...well I'm sorry but 20% might help but aint gonna change things drastically even I know that.!

Basically they mistreated some 2017 models for two years and got them to degrade after 2 years of abuse

TBH only care if you are a gamer.
If you get an evo panel (wbe) it's fixed, Lg didn't extend their warranty to 5 years on the g2s with evos because they love replacing burn ins. Nobody knows for certain but it's a fairly safe bet
