A quick look at Zoom specs appear that they only support up to 1200x768. Anyone have experience with this on Zoom compared to a 1080 camera? Marginally better?
I have this camera and wanted it as a step up from my awful Mac webcam.
It's good - not great, but good. Better than my C920 but not as good as my Logitech Brio. Sound was good, PQ was good (albeit a little over sharpened) but there were two things I didn't like:
the app needs to be open for changes to "stick"
White balance cannot be manually adjusted.
For me and my setup, it's okay but sometimes with a change of lighting the WB will shift and it's distracting
From that review, this looks like a great camera for the price. I know the Logitech C920 is the default recommendation to a generic person for a lot of people, but I've been pretty disappointed with my C920. This Anker seems like it would solve some of my problems with the C920, such as the lack of detail and slow auto-focus. I can't tell, from that review, if it would solve the C920's terrible maximum focal point. I tend to be ~3ft away from my webcam, which the C920 can't really handle very well, even at "infinity focus", without putting a corrective lens on it (yes, I've literally given my C920 eyeglasses so it can focus on me, which actually plays nicely with its auto-focus!).
I really wish MacOS and Windows handled this better at the OS level. Seems that 90% of webcams have this problem unless you have bloated software that strong-arms it into remembering settings, which is only arguably better.
Very impressive performance compared to the brio. Thanks for posting it. Overall, a great tech review video.
There was no mention in the review of windows Hello. Brio is compatible and Anchor c200 is not. (Face log in to windows).
Funny at the end, but worth mentioning: "If you have a shiny forehead like me, and you want to accentuate it, definitely go with the anchor" That was the biggest difference for me. The logitech brio gives a "softer" more gentle picture, along with better colors. Frankly, the reviewer looked better on the brio 90% of the time. That's software.
The level of detail and color in bad lighting was better with the Anchor. The noise cancelling was better with Anchor. It seems like Anchor just has better optics.
I do wish it was a comparison with the similarly priced Logitech c920.
If you are looking for a high quality video feed, and can use zoom filtering, for your liking, this camera seems like a great deal.
