https://marketplace.sce.com/porta...-stations/

They only list the 160 and 240 on this page but if google " jackery 300 sce " it comes up with that model and you can claim $75 for it

I did it for the 300 this morning and i got an email saying

" I can confirm that your proof of purchase has been reviewed and contains all pertinent information. Your claim will proceed to the next step of the rebate process: Account Review. At this stage, your account information will be reviewed and verified that you have an active, residential account with SCE. We will provide an update on your claim eligibility within 4 weeks.
I bought a few non-listed devices. It you read the terms page, you can email them about non-listed models but they have to meet the following criteria:

https://marketplace.sce.com/sce-m...s-rebates/

I understand all of the following requirements must be met for a product to be considered for addition to the QPL:

Qualifying equipment must have a minimum of one (1) electrical outlet/port (110V).
Qualifying equipment must plug into an electrical power outlet to recharge.
Qualifying equipment must use lithium battery storage only.
Qualifying equipment must include surge protection.
Qualifying equipment must be portable or easy to transport in an emergency.
The following products do not qualify for a $75 SCE rebate:

Permanent power stations.
Power stations that only provide power through USB ports.
Power banks that only provide power through USB ports.
USB power banks.
Power inverters that draw power from vehicles.
Gasoline-powered power stations.
Gasoline-powered inverters.
Gasoline-powered generators.
Propane-powered generators.
Diesel-powered generators.
Natural-gas-powered generators.
Power stations designed to power commercial equipment.
The following types of entities are also not eligible to receive this rebate: business customers, multifamily dwelling operators, commercial entities, commercial businesses, nonprofits, industrial customers, public entities, and farmland customers.

I went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 which would be $40 after SCE rebate and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 with the coupon and SCE rebate would be free.

Love my bluetti. She's a beast, can run my whole house off a 50amp outlet to my generator house hookup. Was even able to run my house AC Unit!! Pretty certain these are all small less than 1kw units?
Yes something small like the EB3A($240) or the ecoflow 288kw($230).

For anyone interested in a LifePo4 portable power station, Bluetti EB70S ($499) and the solar panels that go with it are also on sale (PV120 are around $230 and PV200 are $340) on Amazon. I might bite the bullet on it.

Great to hear. What model did you get that does this?

Went with the Bluetti EB3A. Seems to be one of the most versatile and technically advanced portable power stations.

Researching solar panels now. Rigid ones are under $1 per Watt. Portable ones are over $1.50 per Watt. Lots of 120W portable knockoffs and rebranding on Amazon to weed through.

Very important for people hoping to use solar panels to charge these. The main reason I will never buy a Jackery is that they only have a connection for their proprietary solar panels to go into. IE, they charge triple the market rate for a 100w solar panel that you have to buy.

As others said LION is old tech, but just like acid cell, if you really only want to use this sparingly, it is fine, only slightly more dangerous than LiPo4.

LiFePo4 (Lithium Phosphate) batteries have no "memory" so you can use and abuse them and still get a full cycle even if you run it to zero, they also last about ten times longer than LION.

This battery isn't for me, but if you are looking for something to keep your fridge going during a power outage and don't mind powering it from the grid when it is up, then this is fine.

I mean, there's a $400 price difference. If you're okay with under 300W then the EB3A is hard to beat for portability and features. But if you need more power then the bigger Ecoflow is an option. You should figure out what you need to power and watch some YouTube videos to get a sense of what you want.

Anyway, figured out my solar panel. Went with the Newpowa 9BB 100W Monocrystalline. It's rigid but the smallest 100W option at under 29" x 28" x 2" so still portable. Seems like the best of both worlds and its only $82.50.

The 1000 still isn't LiFePO4 and doesn't have a power delivery port. That is just ridiculous this day and age. I know Jackery has established a reputation of reliability, but how long are they going to milk that before they upgrade some of these. I would only consider the 300 because it actually has a power delivery port.

I get what you are saying about charge cycles. But what is this about it going bad and burning down your home? I have a jackery I bought maybe a year ago.
While I'm not sure where UnXpectedError is getting his information from or how he drawing this conclusion, I can confirm that LiFePO4 batteries are significantly more stable and less likely to catastrophically fail during normal use. When they do fail, while very serious and still dangerous, it isn't nearly as dramatic.

Lithium ion batteries are prone and susceptible to the formation of dendrites, essentially when lithium ion compounds crystallize inside of the electrolyte of the battery without breaking back down into solution like they normally should. These highly conductive structures form over time and can bridge the gap between the battery's electrodes and anodes, causing an electrical short, which is usually the cause of seemingly spontaneous battery flare-ups and combustion. Dendrite formation is the primary cause of lithium ion battery capacity loss and eventual failure. LiFePO4 batteries use a different chemistry, doping the lithium ion electrolyte with iron phosphate based compounds that change how the battery works. In exchange for a reduced total energy capacity, these compounds make it so that dendrite formation requires a great deal more energy to occur, make existing dendrites much more fragile and more easily able to redesolve during normal battery cycling. This feature is what gives lithium ion batteries with LiFePO4 chemistry the dramatically extended number of charge cycles, going from 500-2000 for "standard" lithium-ion batteries to a general range of 3,000-6,000 charge cycles for mass produced batteries, and charge cycles estimated up to 15,000 cycles for obscenely expensive premium/scientific grade cells.

You might also be thinking "Hey, I only plan to use it a couple times a month, 24 times a year out of 500 is no big deal all right?" And yeah, that's really no big deal in terms of the battery's life span.

There is unfortunately a significant issue with lithium ion batteries that most people aren't aware of. "Standard" chemistry Lithium ion batteries degrade and lose capacity over time whether you are using them or not. The same thing happens to LiFePO4 batteries, but it takes much much longer to occur.

You can probably see why having a battery that can recharge five, ten, fifteen times more while maintaining capacity and last decades longer before it fails is highly desirable.

The advantages that a standard lithium ion battery have over a LiFePO4 battery is that it has a higher energy density, that the battery can hold more power per gram than an LiFePO4 battery, and they are usually cheaper.

LiFePO4 batteries cost more to manufacture, which is why a lot of companies are selling standard lithium-ion batteries as a way to cut costs/boost profits, as opposed to making the best product that they could.

Most consumers have no idea that there are different types of batteries that are better than others, and usually buy whichever one has the best marketing with the lowest price.

Do a little bit of research online to get more information about batteries and renewable energy systems in general. There's a wealth of information readily available.

Hopefully this info will help you make a better informed decision about your future purchases. 👍

I dont think this is that great of a deal. The similar power golabs with lifepo4 has gone down to around $160 before.

For $450, you will get this 1000W output on 1100Wh battery capacity which is almost 4 times the capacity of Jackery. (it was on sale last week for $400)
