You need the Dual Ranked version to work with Synology, it has memory chips on both sides of the pcb. Model: CT16G4SFD8266

$73 at Amazon and $58.18 at Newegg, but the Newegg shipper is in China. Took a month for me to get mine, but it worked.

isn't this a better deal?

after 15% coupon it comes out to $46.74 before taxes.
I've used teamgroup in many PCs and they work great.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09279D...gToDp&th=1

The best deal is 2x16gb 109.99 - 20% coupon comes out to 87.99 this is for 32gb total or $44 each.
If anyone is buying the TeamGroup for their Dell G15....this will not work on the G15, it does not support xmp profile of 1.35 volts.

umm no offense but who looks at compatibility lists these days, in my experience NUCs aren't like MACs, or old Ryzen, but I get the time is money and pay for something that's guaranteed to work.

personal experience, I've built tons of laptops (refurb older corporate laptops) no issues with Teamgroup.

Didn't Micron aka Crucial Discontinue their line of Ballistix ram? I guess they can or won't compete on price?

But Yah I've purchased Crucial many many times, I do trust them for stuff, but don't agree they provide the best bang for buck.
After having purchased ram and it failing to work I still try to look for compatibility lists as the hassle of returning something eats up any money I would have saved. I've been running with the crucial on these machines since November without issue so I'll pay the extra few bucks for that convenience.

(was also burned by Crucial Ballstix tracer way back in the old days, even the RMA replacement failed, but these chips have been fine)

anyone know if 3200mhz CL22 is burned into Jedec or XMP for Crucial, my bets are they are burned into XMP, not JEDEC, as far as I know, only Kingston ram was burned into JEDEC.

to achieve 3200mhz you still need XMP. can confirm with CPUinfo look at the DRAM and double that number. 1200mhz x2 is 2400mhz, 1333x2 - 2666, 1600x2 =3200mhz etc.

so while some laptops advertise they come with 3200mhz ram, it's not running 3200mhz if XMP is not available, why manufacturer's do this is beyond me.

don't fool yourselves thinking you're getting 3200mhz speed without XMP, if your laptop doesn't support XMP you will be running at 2666 or 2400 whatever jedec was programmed for.

See attached for more info.

You can mix and match RAM with different capacities but they'll run in Single Channel mode instead of Dual Channel mode (if you're only running 1 stick now you're essentially in single channel mode so there's no loss in performance).
So okay to mix the dell g15 default 8 gb with the 16 gb crucial?

Just runs single channel with minimal loss of performance? Thanks for any advice

Would this be ok for the XPG 14 inch ?

Thanks! Just bought one of these Prime Day sale laptops with only 4gb of RAM so this is a no-brainer for the extra few bucks up from the 8gb cost.

Does the OP memory work at 3200M with the last Dell Inspiron 16 deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/15895648-dell-inspiron-16-2022-5625-laptop-16-fhd-ips-touch-ryzen-5-5625u-8gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-win11h-587-99-f-s?page=6#comments
?

Seems like the Inspiron 16 had installed 1*8G PC4 3200, so it should support things like XMP that fully support 3200? O/W why bother to put a 3200 RAM there, not a cheaper 2666?

Sorry am not tech savvy just like to clear things off.

Please advice. Thanks in advance!

I bought an Acer desktop that's been on the Front Page for the last few months and is widely sold in every Walmart in the US. They all came with 3200 Ram even though it's overkill and that PC can't take advantage of it. Maybe Acer just got a deal on boatloads of that RAM? Who knows?

Nice find for new ram OP. Just a friendly reminder that ram is fairly safe to buy used, so if you want to save a little bit more you can go used. It's not for everyone though, so this is defintely a good dea for new. Thanks

Anyone know if this runs @ 3200 mhz with an AMD Ryzen 5950 chip or other similar AMD chips? My motherboard does not have XMP or JEDEC. Thanks in advance.

That's completely false. Please read about flex mode.

https://www.intel.com/content/www...-kits.html

I would buy an 8GB chip for the G15 just because it's a cheap, simple laptop and 16GB is plenty for most use cases. But don't worry about getting a 16GB chip and having it be "mismatched"; that isn't an issue; flex mode gives full speed on the paired 8GBx2.
