Went out of stock wow setting app the cash back site. Got caught being greedy, but there's always next time.
I learned to not try to be greedy when it comes to these refurb deals. I'd rather get the cheap iPhone deal and miss out on that cash back.

No only pay for 1 month on Metro. But you do have to wait 6 months for unlock. However the difference between my Metro iPhone XR and my refurb from TW was like night and day in quality.
Quality shouldn't be an issue for those of us trading in the phones (unless we receive cracked screen phones from Total Wireless).

Also, the Metro deal requires a visit to a store, which may or may not be pleasant. Plus at least $160 or more out of pocket vs $109 + tax on this deal with the 15% coupon.

managed to get in on the deal, hope they ship out

also, I would NOT advise porting numbers just for this deal like some people have done in the past.
Several porting issues have raised for some. I would not like to deal with that headache.

These refurb iPhone deals are good if you know what you are getting yourself into.
Possible aftermarket parts .
some even reported in the refurb XR deal that the Face ID stopped working.
I currently have 4 of those and have been working fine but I rarely use the phones.
Still waiting for a trade in deal.
Hopefully the iPhone 14 brings some good deals from the carriers.
Yep same boat on the xr's but if there isnt any high tiv deals after the 14? 😬

48% off on new Apple products? How does that add up? Are you talking about $230 trade-in value on a ~$115 purchase?
For those who are picking up iPhones for trade-in opportunities, what's the best way to leverage value? In my case, dunno if it makes much sense on an outright iPhone 13 purchase, for example. $800 + tax - $230 trade in (actually ~$115 since you already spent that much on the phone) = not such a great deal IMO
It depends what your goal is. Some like apple gift cards. Let's say this 11 is an even $120 and $230 trade in. Let's say you get 5.

$600 out of pocket = $1,150 in Apple Card's.

It's just an example.

A few months ago GameStop was giving about $230 in Visa card for an xr.
Several people did that deal. Some issues that came up was that these cards were easily stolen within seconds/minutes. Completely wiped out.

Another example is doing a trade in for a newer iPhone on a big carrier.

They usually give $800 in bill credits for an older model such as an xr or 11.

Like I said, it's all up to you and what goal you want to do.

I have purchased these for family members and also to have on hand when newer iPhones get released and HOPE that they have a big trade in deal.

Head to Settings > General > About and look for the "Parts and Service History" section beneath the device's serial number. If the section is missing, nothing has been replaced (not even the battery). But if any parts have been replaced, you will see them listed in this section.

I wonder if his showed parts replaced. 🤷 ♂️
There is no "parts and service history" section on mine. However I found it's battery usually hot when I charge.

The idea is multiple trade ins to add up to whatever you need to buy from Apple

Yea I'm patiently waiting. No Mother's Day deal from T-Mobile this year like many of us had hoped for.

Plus, supposedly the 14 will start at $100 more. So it seems like the base 14 will start at $900…

Are you using an original charger box and cable?
And I don't mean whatever total wireless includes. I rarely ever use what they include.

I've bought 5 of these "refurb" phones from TW before (iPhone SE) and Apple took 3 of them as trade ins. The other two had aftermarket displays and they wouldn't take. I traded those into Best Buy for credit. Would do again.

how do they tell the aftermarket displays??

usually the refurb screens have a plastic film that is not like the original plastic film that is on the new retail iPhones.

most of these phones have 3rd party parts on them such as screens and batteries.
in the last iPhone 11 refurb deal which were 200, I received one with a plastic film that looks like it came from apple and one that usually comes with the 3rd party screens.

i think they just use whatever they have in hand as protective film,

from the discussion of XR deal, i think the authorized repair center has some special tool to clear the history
