I just called Boost , their customer service barely spoke English
got transferred to the cancelation department
the woman named Amanda told me that this is the price and the device is prepaid and I will not be charged if I don't use the device
If I want to use the device then I can buy a plan from their website.

I hope this helps

Can you just get a $1 month trial SIM (https://deals.boostmobile.com/myp...-bundle-5g [boostmobile.com]) and pop that in there? I expect that would count as "activated" because it's the same as if you bought this device to replace an existing Boost device you use.
This is what I'm going to do, I was successful placing an order using privacy.com. Any attempts to charge extra will bounce. I'll take some pictures of my two devices active on Boost. If Boost refers the matter to a debt collector, I'll just claim that I did have active service and met the TOS. The debt collector will give up even if this may not be how Boost intended for the device to be activated.

I bought this with PayPal. Can they even do another charge automatically for the remaining amount 3 months later through my PayPal? Don't they need my authorization?

So much unnecessary paranoia. Some corporation is going to up-charge people $50 for a tiny battery pack, really? And CC companies would back up this corporation over customers? Lol most CC will reimburse just because "item didn't meet expectations"
It is a $49.99 retail Boost hotspot device with a battery pack feature. It isn't just a tiny 4400 mAh battery pack that costs $10 on Amazon with no terms and conditions. The main objective for the device is to use their monthly data plan.

How is this $1 deal electronic device hotspot much different than a free phone or $1 sale phone with terms and conditions? They are electronic devices. People should take in consideration any terms for any device. If I were to buy it, I would activate it and buy a $15 month plan. One can cancel after one month. Give Boost some money and not be concerned about being penalized with a later upcharge.

If I get FREE phone from T-mobile. It asked me to sign EIP. I didn't sign anything with Boost.

I'm Direct Messaging them on Twitter now after tweeting to @BoostCare last night. They responded this morning to DM them, so hopefully they'll get it cancelled. I never received an email acknowledgment for the order, either.

I'm not sure this will work... the $1 SIMS (black) are on ATT... these are being shipped with the TMob sims (orange)/

Has anyone tried it with the ATT SIM?

But you read and agreed to the fine print terms before you click the purchase button. I always read terms. I don't scroll over. When I bought Google fi cheap phone, I read the terms. I didn't sign any EIP. I knew the conditions.

Debt collector give up?

They are like the little kid paperboy on the bicycle from the movie "Better Off Dead".... "Two dollars"

Instead of two dollars, they will say "$48.99".

Then they have to list the price next to 99¢ with activation.

I still have a tmobile hotspot from about 5 years ago. I'm not sure that it's even 4G but it came with a small amount of free data so I could keep it around for emergency network access briefly.

might as well grab this!
