I just called Boost , their customer service barely spoke English
got transferred to the cancelation department
the woman named Amanda told me that this is the price and the device is prepaid and I will not be charged if I don't use the device
If I want to use the device then I can buy a plan from their website.

I hope this helps

I bought two codes from this seller [ebay.com] and unlocked both of my device without any issues. Process is much easier than I thought. Took less than 5 minutes to unlock both.
Can you please explain how to unlock these devices?

Look at prior deal posts (months back) on this exact same item for sale from Boost. No one got charged for not activating.
Post the link. No one is going to search for something that may or may not exist. Backup your post by providing the link.

For those of you that needs this unlocked, I worked with ebay seller on the following auction for just $0.99.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Unlock-C...ect=mobile

He sent a list of unlock codes (NCK, SIM, SPCK etc), what worked for mine was SPCK code.

put a non-boost sim card, power on, use your computer to connect to it's wifi, open a browser and go to 192.168.0.1, enter the unlock code.

Do you have to request the code through message? How long does it take?

Seller description says, "I will send this item by postal mail."

Within a couple of hours at most. Everything was done via ebay message.

Sending item by postal mail was just a term that eBay calls out for their terms and conditions.

How To enter the unlock code on your locked modem:-

1. Insert an UNACCEPTED SIM and connect to the dongle Via Wifi or USB.
2. Launch a Web browser and in most cases you should be prompted for the unlock code
If the code is not asked for - dongle MAY already be unlocked - if not then the following procedure may work

1. Ensure dongle is connected to your PC and is recognised (all drivers installed)
2. Insert an UNACCEPTED sim into the dongle
3. Open a Web Browser and Type http://mobile.hotspot or http:/ /192.168.0.1
4. Login to the dashboard
5. Now go to - Advanced settings - Sim settings - Unlock Device - Enter the Unlock Code - Click on APPLY

You need to change from 2.4 ghz to 5 ghz in the setting to use 802.11ac.

Thanks. I was having trouble getting into the 5ghtz connection. I had to basically completely rename it so that it would let me connect via 5 and then i saw ac as an option. The UI is kind of crap but thats typical of hot spots. I wish there was an easy way to enable/disable the wifi, I find the power button doesn't work like it should (I have to hold it town to turn on even for power) and if you disable wifi, Im not sure how you'd be able to re-enable it
