I like these tool sets. I use them to complete repairs at rentals. They are inexpensive so I don't worry about losing a part. Most of these type items don't last a long time anyways.
I bought this over a year ago this and use it all the time. My son loves it too. I just used it to assemble a new desk. It came with all the different types of bits. I use the Allen style bits a lot. The ratchet feature is so helpful. I'm not a tool snob but I am careful with my stuff so I can't say how it would survive being thrown and smashed around since I have a nice tool box for it.
I got a set of these a while back as a white elephant gift and honestly it's pretty amazing for what it is. I don't do anything major with it but will bust it out for quick electronic treardowns or for building cheap furniture and it's been great for at least 6+ years.
I assume YMMV with use cases but as a backup screwdriver kit to keep on a second floor of your house it's really convenient when you don't want to bust out the nice tools.
The driver is kind of garbage. The mode selector can get stuck, nothing keeping it in place horizontally when you push it in to change.
I'm a little embarrassed I got this for my wife instead of putting it toward something better.
.
The design is the same as the old Yankee screwdrivers that used to sometimes stick down and not pop back up. Maybe put a drop or two of oil on it and see if that helps. I have one stored in the package tray in the house junk drawer and it works fine. I have no idea what the retrieval deal is all about, but the flex is alright.
Meanwhile, I have a lot of quality tools, but I have borrowed a couple of the socket drivers... there are some odd sizes included.

The deal breaker is no case. It just becomes a wild west of screwdriver bits. a storage case is essential
