Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

How to get the 10% code? I subscribed to a month of Google One 2TB and don't see any code in my confirmation email so not sure how else to get it.

Edit:

Nevermind, I see it in my cart now. Does not provide a discount on this purchase but will provide credit for a future purchase. Better than nothing, I guess

I had a personal nightmarish experience with google Trade in. When I bought the Google store 4a 5g, they only gave $30 vs a promised $300 for a (near) flawless IPhone I send them. They didn't even send my device back.

So be vary of the trade in values. It's handled by a 3rd party and it's not easy to contact them. Last time a lot of people had bad experiences with the trade in.

FYI: Anything 3a and up to 5a (no screen cracks) you get $300 off. I just traded a 4a and got a free Pixel bud as well.

I only see 5 years of security updates from the spec sheet. I don't see 5 yeas of OS updates. Sticking to iPhone until Google can get it together.
3 OS+ 2 additional years of security update. Same as the current 6/6 pro model.

Meh, that laggy screen and old camera is pushing me toward waiting for a $499 pixel 6.

I see they still accept an iphone 7 but with 256gb for $300.

If one has a 64gb iphone 7, and attempts to submit this as a 256gb, would they flatly deny the trade in and drop the trade in to $0? or does one have a chance of getting some value?

Asking for a friend. =)
Try it, they've been pretty flexible with my trade-ins over the last few years

Wish 6a would come with 256g. It's pointless to go from a working 4a to 6a.

I see a lot of comments about issues with the fingerprint sensor and other knocks on the Pixel 6. While I am not a phone expert, and probably not a heavy user, I find this phone to be simply great. Charges fast, has a good screen, etc. I am happy enough that next time I need a replacement my first place to look will be the latest Pixel device. The only android I'd ever had that I feel was better out of the box was my OnePlus 3, no knock against the various Samsung Galaxy phones I'd had over the years they were totally fine too.

What do you do where you notice or it matters??
everywhere you scroll like IG, SD and other websites. You don't notice the difference between 60hz and a higher refresh rate?
Of course nothing really matters but it definitely gives a better experience while using the phone.

There's no code, it will show in your google account and the store credit will be given 30 days after your order ships. Note that the credit is for future orders and does not apply as a discount for today's order

That happened already, that price was available for the Pixel 6 up until 7/17.

It really depends on how comfortable you are with your Samsung and its ONE UI. I really can't stand it and prefer a more Andoird stocklike feel to it. Also the Google camera is still the best for me comparing to Samsung. I'd wait on the Pixel 7/7Pro release to upgrade my Samsung but if you really like your Samsung I saw that Samsung is offering a generous trade in offer on a S20+ over the S22+

I have a 4a 5g that still runs great and has unlimited photo storage. P6 was a disappointment for me, thinking it's not really worth it to upgrade to 6a

Gotcha, scrolling. That's fair I guess.
