Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

My 3a has some scratches but no cracks (and works great), but I am reading these horror stories on reddit about how they downgrade trade-in values after you send the phone in and don't honor the promised value. Anyone has experience with this? I probably would still keep 6a but it def leave a foul taste if they do that, considering it's most likely some 3rd party contracting company that does the trade-in.

Phone powers on, but it's a black screen. Wonder if Google will take that as a valid trade...

Trade-in for my broken screen 4XL came to $277 for the unlocked 64GB version. Plus 10% back for Google One, it's not a bad deal to gift to family in India.

I thought Goggle Fi forced you stay with them for three months when you trade in

i would be all over this if they hadn't gotten rid of two of the main features I like about my 4a: the size, which is perfect for one-handed use, and the presence of a headphone jack

I bought a 3A on eBay with cracked screen for $48 shipped.

Getting $295 trade for it and Free buds.

Nice little money maker if I decide to sell the Pixel 6a

The TIV for some phones are fantastic.

I think this is the first time I've seen Samsung budget phones (A series) going for $250~$300 for trading.

EDIT:
OnePlus 7 = $105,
OnePlus 7T Pro 5G = $300
OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren = $65 WTF???

Well the difference between a cracked and noncracked phone is like $15.

Trade in value of $295 for a cracked Pixel 3a . Have not done google trade-in before, do they adjust the price later on ?
How you get that when I checked for my 3A XL and they are offering me $100.

Edit: I picked unlocked carrier first and its was $100 trade in value. Then I picked Google Fi specific carrier and they are offering $300 trade in Applause

Dang that pixel 3a tradein price is crazy, I got it for free (paid tax only) years ago from the T-Mobile deal
Yeah, my bro got it for $200 from Costco on a T-Mobile deal, no add a line just an upgrade, that was clear back in Nov 2019. Can't believe $300 trade for that. I got my Pixel 4 in Feb 2020 on a same type of deal from Costco for $300 and they give me $290 trade in towards a 6a, very tempting.

Cracked screen is $295 and non cracked screen is $300 for trade in.

Hi. I made sure to specifically state, "without sales tax" in my post. I figured it wouldn't make much sense to include sales tax for my publicly-posted comment because sales tax varies from location to location. (In my personal records, I did include sales tax.) The sales tax is on top of $449, if you want to calculate for your own area.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

I agree. Google is giving me $300 for a 4a 5G and TMO offered me $65.
Exactly.

There is a huge caveat though. If you're an existing customer (4 lines for me for about 7 years) and are happy to be locked into T-Mobile for 2 years (I am) you might be able to get the "add a new line" requirement waived for their "free-after-24-monthly-billing-credits" deal. I know because I just did. They're letting me do it on all 4 lines if I want without adding additional lines. This ends up matching their 3a promo from way back and is better than the Google deal (for me) since I get to keep my old 3a as a backup. Total cost is just tax on $449.
