Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Phone powers on, but it's a black screen. Wonder if Google will take that as a valid trade...
You have to be able to factory reset it using the screen. Doubt they will accept it

A couple of quick questions if anyone has the answers. We have four lines on fi including the wife's 3a. When I try to upgrade her line to the 6a fi is only giving a trade in of $50. Can I purchase the phone through the regular google site with the fi 3a trade in for $300 (or $295) and then move the phone to fi and not mess up the number?

Also the 3a works fine, but the screen has burn in. I should just put in that it doesn't work for be safe right? After all it is only $5 and I would hate for them to send it back and I get nothing for it if they think my description is incorrect.

Thanks in advance!

I bought a 3A on eBay with cracked screen for $48 shipped.

Getting $295 trade for it and Free buds.

Nice little money maker if I decide to sell the Pixel 6a
I couldn't resist. I just did the same thing.

Hopefully there is no downgrade on the trade-in value. They don't ask about condition other than cracked or not so...

Well I pulled the trigger. Fingers crossed on getting the full trade in value for my 4a. Now to decide if I want to sell the Pixel Buds to bring the cost even lower. I'm kind of curious to see if they're better than my ~$30 BT earbuds, but I suspect I won't notice a difference so I might as well sell new and unopened, but the market might be flooded due to this deal. The 4a is mostly fine so I really didn't need a new phone and I'm annoyed by the slight size/weight increase, but based on the trade in value, my 4a's battery is sucking lately, ultra wide camera and adding waterproof, seemed like I might as well.

No it doesn't seem like it. Rumors were suggesting they would've but MKBHD said the fingerprint sensor continues to be slow just like the 6/6P https://youtu.be/UsD87v8F914?t=150
Don't forget that auto brightness doesn't work properly. I have been using the 6P for over 8 months and they haven't fixed ANYTHING.

Exactly.

There is a huge caveat though. If you're an existing customer (4 lines for me for about 7 years) and are happy to be locked into T-Mobile for 2 years (I am) you might be able to get the "add a new line" requirement waived for their "free-after-24-monthly-billing-credits" deal. I know because I just did. They're letting me do it on all 4 lines if I want without adding additional lines. This ends up matching their 3a promo from way back and is better than the Google deal (for me) since I get to keep my old 3a as a backup. Total cost is just tax on $449.
wow. how did you go about it? just chat and ask?

Just curious,do u need to be locked into a new plan to get the trade in. I've always been a Trac phone customer.

Pixel 5a user here. The pixel 6 is a better comparison to this phone but I just wanted to mention that I absolutely hate my pixel 5a. It's super slow and has so many bugs. I had a OnePlus 5t that's literally close to 5 years old now and I switched from that to the pixel 5a because my battery was dying, but I'm at a point that I want to go back to it even with it's battery issues because this phone is just so bad. I will be avoiding Google phones maybe until they can prove their tensor chip is reliable and good but that might be a couple years.

Is there a limit on how many Google store 6a phones you can purchase with the trade in (on separate orders)? I do not see any limit in the terms. I have two phones I can trade. Thanks.
