Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Trade in value of $295 for a cracked Pixel 3a . Have not done google trade-in before, do they adjust the price later on ?
What do they consider cracked screen? I know my phone starts because; however screennis all black. Do you know if it meets trade in criteria for quoted trade in value?

i would be all over this if they hadn't gotten rid of two of the main features I like about my 4a: the size, which is perfect for one-handed use, and the presence of a headphone jack
4a is 5.8in. this is 6.1. not much difference honestly

Just curious,do u need to be locked into a new plan to get the trade in. I've always been a Trac phone customer.
I'm on T-Mobile. I just bought the unlocked version. I will just transfer the SIM. This won't change my T-Mobile plan at all.

Weird. Seems the 3A is actually likely worth MORE than many of the later models. The 3A trade-in value is $295-$300 (only a $5 difference between $295 with a damaged screen and $300 without). A couple other examples... The 4 XL is $262 to $300. The 5A is $230 to $300. Stick Out Tongue

How did you do that ? I put in my old 3XL and it only gave me $110
The A models have extra trade in value with the promotion for some reason. I didn't ask questions i just clicked the buttons.

You have to be able to factory reset it using the screen. Doubt they will accept it
Where does it say that?

I've never traded in a phone thru Google... so I'm a bit skeptical about the quoted trade in value.
I have a 4a that works fine, but the screen is cracked pretty badly... dropped facedown on gravel but the phone works fine.
Anyone have past experience trading in a phone with a cracked screen and/or does it matter how bad the screen is cracked, as long as the phone works?

I went through the process and it clearly states that phones not factory reset will not be accepted.

Click through it and see. I was able to mess around and see what values I would get for different things. Cracked screens only dinged $5. No power on devices are not accepted as with ones not factory reset.

did they fix the fingerprint sensor on this?
I've noticed better fingerprint sensor reading on my pixel 6 after a recent update. Not sure on the 6a, but will see when I get my wife's
