Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

i am very much a camera freak and know all the settings to get the best possible pics.

i normally use the the back cam with flash to get best possible pic instead of selfie cam

when using selfie cam i suggest using it will illumination.

since pixel2 no one has ever beaten my pics
please post examples of your amazing pics, camera freak.

the 6pro's crappier photos are probably due to the camera's insanely high megapixel count...more megapixels are not always better but sells $$$

Too good to pass up. Final total was $480 after tax. Getting $300 for the pixel 3a trade in, free buds, $45 in Google credit and credit card Cashback.

Just don't think 3a is ever gonna give you that type of return again. Loved mine but it was getting long I the tooth and 64 gb was hurting.
How did you get the $45 Google credit? Thanks

It's in this thread, think the first post. You have to sign up for Google one 2 tb. You might have a discounted first month for $2.49. You get 10% back

Placed order with iPhone 7 128gb trade in. Even though only iPhone 7 256gb is listed as an option for $300 trade in value, I gave it a shot with smaller size.

Fingers crossed to see how and what google offers.

Anyone else with same trade in?
Did you select the "If my phone's condition is different than above, accept its new value." option? Have a pristine 32GB iPhone 7. Debating whether its worth the gamble of sending it in.

i am do tons of side by side pics with other phones maybe about 10k in total side by side comparisons.

i also make sure the other phones have similar settings to make a fair comparison. i can tell u most ofther phones like iphone and samsung have terrible cameras and nothing more then fake hype

samsung ultra has a very decent zoom but with the last gcam 8.5 update pixel has closed the zoom gap to less then 5% and with the next sept update pixel will overtake on zoom. but the ultra is just a one trick pony and last in other ascpects

iphone on the otherhand is a zero trick pony can only take good pics in perfect lighting but is horrible in most situations. ip13pro is miserably bad in zoom HDR low light and moving pics.
Yeah the whole thing is low light front camera gripe...

I moved to 6pro from p4xl and i can say there is a great improvement in photo quality .
u can see my pic on ig asg4aa they dont let u post them here

with the 6A i feel google went in the wrong direction they should have kept the camera the same and weakened the cpu as in past A models. i am thinking 6A camera is only as good as p4 5 5a
so its going back and i am deeply disappointed

i have the 6pro which has the zoom lens and the 6 doesnt which is a very bad decision on googles part. i can tak such amazing moon pics on 6pro and the p6 zoom is even inferior then the p4 but only very slightly.

this ia bad move by google to not have zoom lens on non-pro model. i
its always better to have zoom lens rather then ultrawide lens

Is everyone selecting this option? I did and I'm trading in a cracked screen pixel 3a XL - should I not have??

Cancelled my order after reading reviews of terrible reception when driving as the Pixel does not do well hopping between cell towers.

Did anyone get the 10% google credit after buying this phone? i did upgrade to the 2Tb plan. I saw someone said they got the credit and cancelled the order and placed another one for the credit? Is that possible?
You can place as many orders as you like and will get 10% off each time. The Google One discount shows up in your cart. Until you get billed for the 2TB plan it won't show up - meaning while you're still on the lesser plan billing cycle. It's in the wiki.

My Pixel 6 only has issues jumping from my home wifi (via wifi calling) to cellular when I leave the house. It's all anecdotal.

dont do this, you will send in a cracked pixel and they will most likely change it to value $50.
you are basically giving your phone away and buying a new priced one.
its a obvious bait and switch.
does anyone have first hand experiences with googles trade value?
looks like a scam at checkout
lol, this post is hilarious to me. First it reads like you have first hand knowledge of them bait and switching with their trade in values, then by the end of your rant you ask.... "Does anyone have first hand experiences with google's trade value". What a useless response. Complete nonsense conjured up by your imagination and fears. Ha ha

Will they take icloud locked phones?

When they note "All Carriers" will they allow phones locked to lets say Verizon?
When they say "All Carriers", I am going to assume all carriers and that includes MVNOs. If they meant "Unlocked", I think they would state unlocked. They used to say "Unlocked" and "Other". The thing with unlocked nowadays is that brand carrier unlocked phones aren't really "unlocked" as they probably won't work with other carriers since the 3G shutdown and also with voice over lte. I am trading in a locked phone.

For me, it always seems like the non-A phones are the beta-test phone to test some random idea (soli chip, non-flagship SOC, gigantic notch, etc), while the A phones are the "playstation-slim" model with dropped features that they expect most people to not miss, a lower price, and more overall reliability.

This has born out in my experience, as every A phone has been great for me (and I have owned most of them). The Pixel 3a had a random reboot issue at launch which was fixed with one warranty exchange. 4a has been fine, the 4a-5G has been the GOAT for my wife, and I expect the 6a to be as undramatic. I didnt the 5a because that seemed like a half-generation jump from the 4a-5g.

If there are endemic issues which persist, My amex or my Freedom Flex will happilly handle them at the end of the warranty.

To me, there is no risk, only reward, in going for this offer.

Hi.. I am interested in this deal.. did it work for u.. I am loyal t-mobile customer from more then 10 yrs with 5 line.. will they honor free 6a without adding a line and on 24 month credit .. appreciate your inputs and experience here..
Quote from starcaptor :
I'm a TMO veteran, and I know how super YMMV any of their promos are... Free lines, hookup, kickback discount, SOC codes, etc.

How exactly did you phrase it in chat to bypass the add a line requirement?? It's hard enough as is to point them to the specific LEGIT promotion codes for their actual deals 🙃
Quote from duenor :
how do you even get to chat? I don't see a chat option anywhere.
Not really much more to add than what I mentioned. I logged in, initiated a chat, got a helpful rep, explained my situation, long history with T-Mobile and gushed about how much I love them, and then asked...wish granted. Yes, it is HUGE YMMV. You can get a dipsh*t, a jerk, a newbie, a person who hates their life, etc. Or you can get a super-friendly person who is totally hapless and can't even find the right promo (I had to patiently explain that the new 6a promo was not one of the other 3 Pixel promos she thought I was talking about). If you are lucky you get someone who is both knowledgeable and helpful, or is at least willing to let you guide them to what the eff you are asking about.

Chat isn't that hard to find.
