Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Maybe I'm being too cautious, but I took video of the phone as I demo'd condition, performed the factory reset on camera, and packed it in the box and sealed it. Who knows if that would actually help with anything if there's an issue.
Yeah I did all of that too. Felt silly but doesn't hurt and cost me anything if something goes wrong. I have till 12th so hoping that the trade in value will come through.

The fingerprint bug is REAL... I registered both the thumbs only.. but I can unlock the phone with the right middle finger even if it is not added..
Well if you would quit giving your phone the middle finger it wouldn't be an issue. laugh out loud

Have you guys received your pixel 6a cases? What did you get and what's your experience so far? Any good screen protector?

How long does the trade in generally take? Mine is going out in the mail today.. Wondering how close is the window for them to tell me all went well, or otherwise for me to be able to return the 6a..

Usually within 2-3 days of them receiving it.

I dropped off my trade-in today and just downloaded the June update for the Pixel 6a. It took a really long time to install. It downloaded quick but the installation took crazy long time for a security update. It is supposed to fix bugs. I have yet to experience any bugs in the few days of using it. The fingerprint sensor has worked perfectly fine for me and works only with my 2 registered thumbs.

Does anyone know if a Remote Managed iPhone can be traded in for this deal? Basically the iphone has remote mgmt of another company, but is otherwise sim unlocked and not restricted.
I, too, wish to know this answer!!!

Where did you drop it? Is dropping locally an option?... Or did you just mean at post office?

it's USPS, that's how they ship trade in box and that's how it's returned

Got it. Yes, but we leave it in our mailbox and great USPS folks take it. That's where mines at or already picked up hopefully.

I thought there was another option for local drop off.

I purchased this one and I'm happy with it - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09ZHP2W6X. I don't like overly protective/bulky cases and I didn't want to start with a minimalist case so this is a good compromise.

I got the Pixel 6a Spigen Rugged Armor Case a few days before receiving my Pixel 6a. I pretty much always get the Spigen Rugged Armor cases for all my phones (iphones, Motorola, Samsung and Pixel). With my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G though, I am actually using a pretty good Gesma case. Spigen hit all the marks for me with style, protection, comfort and grip.

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Rug...220&sr=8-5

* I usually always put on supershieldz tempered glass protector on but I didn't do it with my Samsung galaxy a71 5g due to halo effect on the edges and reducing the accuracy of its already pretty poor fingerprint sensor. I am not putting on any screen protector on my pixel 6a. The spigen case provides some protection to the front screen with its lip and gorilla glass 3 is very durable. I am also pretty careful with my phones. I didn't have a scratch on the screen after nearly 2 years with my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G.

This is the case I bought as well. I had a Spigen on 3A so I knew what I was getting. I waited until I got the 6A and had a day to play with it before ordering the case. Nice to have an Amazon Warehouse nearby for one day delivery.
