Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

I am unable to get whatsapp verification code/call on Pixel 6a. It's voice number linked to sim number. Whatsapp is currently on Pixel 4a 5g and trying to setup on 6a. Anyone in the same boat?
I had a similar issue, I did a manual backup and uninstalled WhatsApp from the 4a and it worked after that

Not only that, for some strange reason, they don't support 6A altogether, even though they sell it. Either their compatibility checker is not updated or something weird going on with V
I had to move from Tracfone/Verizon - after a day of troubleshooting they admitted they don't yet support wifi calls or VOLTE on the Pixel 6a and don't know if or when they will. Moved to a Sprint MNVO and all worked great soon as SIM inserted.

I just boxed mine up, and tried to get it in the mail, but the mailman must have come early today. I wanted to wait more days to trade it in, but I admit I am a bit paranoid I will really get $300 for the phone.

Hopefully you will. Take photos, videos of the phone to submit as proof if there's any issue later.

Was the 4a shutdown as well? It took me a few tries to get my code delivered.

Verizon works on the 6a with USmobile and physical sim, although they are having issues with porting my number in. I even did a speed test a few days ago and got 900Mbps which is something I had never seen before. I must have been very close to a tower.

I got the Pixel 6a Spigen Rugged Armor Case a few days before receiving my Pixel 6a. I pretty much always get the Spigen Rugged Armor cases for all my phones (iphones, Motorola, Samsung and Pixel). With my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G though, I am actually using a pretty good Gesma case. Spigen hit all the marks for me with style, protection, comfort and grip.

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Rug...220&sr=8-5

* I usually always put on supershieldz tempered glass protector on but I didn't do it with my Samsung galaxy a71 5g due to halo effect on the edges and reducing the accuracy of its already pretty poor fingerprint sensor. I am not putting on any screen protector on my pixel 6a. The spigen case provides some protection to the front screen with its lip and gorilla glass 3 is very durable. I am also pretty careful with my phones. I didn't have a scratch on the screen after nearly 2 years with my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G.
That's a good case, had it on previous Pixels.

And the saga begins with the trade-in process. USPS claims my kit was delivered this morning but no trace of it in the mail or neighbors.

EDIT: I was able to email my local post office and the package magically appeared an hour later.

Just received an email saying Google received my trade in. States 1-4 business days for them to complete the assessment.

I bought despite the typical experts chiming in on the horrors of the 6A (99% of which hadn't even had one in their hands yet). The funny part for me is, the #1 warning about the bad fingerprint reader, in my case, couldn't be more wrong! The 6a fingerprint reader in my case is MUCH BETTER than the one on the 4a! In fact, to me it's the most noticeable difference between the two! Glad I ignored the cries!

P.S. Just installed a glass screen protector, and the print registered before I installed it, works just as well as it did before the glass installation!
Could you share which glass protector you installed on 6a?
It is much helpful if there is a link of that. TIA.

I've traded in 3 phones to Google (over 3 years) & got what was promised for each. As long as condition is what you put on trade in you should be OK.
