I have it, catches a lot of bugs so im pretty happy with it. No idea if its better or worse than alternatives but it seemed to help in my back yard. Bulbs last about 1/2 a summer for me so youll need to get 1-2 a year in northeast
I do not recommend this product. At least it does not have "mosquito" on the title. If you want to kill insects, bees and good insects use this. It will not catch mosquitoes and the bulb fuses in a month (at least mine included 2 bulbs and they lasted one month each)
Was just at Sam's Club and they had the 1/2 acre for $50. They also have one on their site with a pole mount for $65. That said, never used it before, just passing info.
This does not work too well, it kills more other bugs than mosquitos, I had 2 of them installed last summer and this year decided not to install them. I found that the yellow sticky traps work better, that what I installed this summer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
It catches all sorts of nuisance bugs. If they are attracted to CO2 and UV, this will get them.
It does catch moths, which do pollinate. But that said, they do not pollinate much in terms of volume nor type.
I'm not sure why many people can't get the device to work for them. It does take weeks to months to really effect mosquito populations as this only kills adults, and not all of them.
It should only be used as part of a holistic attack on mosquitos. That includes water traps with mosquito dunks in them to affect the breeding cycle.
I have one of these from Costco. I don't recommend it. It's not very effective. I also have a similar more cheaply made device called Stinger that is much more effective, but I don't if it's available anymore. The Stinger actually does catch some mosquitos.
My dad has it and says it is great at getting the bugs. However, it does have a little mess of bug parts that fall out of it on the ground. It's not something you would want to put on your serving table.

Mosquito magnet, they are expensive but they do work.
