No go in VA. So y'all need to READ the details for each state.

List of School Supplies Eligible for Exemption

"School supply," means an item that is commonly used by a student in a course of study. For purposes of the sales tax holiday, the term does not include computers and such items may not be purchased exempt of the tax.

You're charged when you make the purchase, not when you pick up. You just need to find out *now* how long they'll hold it for you after your purchase date.

For some reason I thought most states participated in this. Can't believe the list is so small. I'm pretty sure Virginia included computers last year, but no more. I can ship to a participating state/friend and pick up later, so I'll still get my no tax discount.

Be sure to check your state info. Some states computer purchases are limited by price. So the more expensive Mac computers would not qualify for tax free purchases.

Just add stuff to your cart and the tax will be missing if you qualify. Ebay did that for an order yesterday.

Might be shipping address that determines the TAX?????????????
