Almost thought I was going to use this with sams club app but nope. Bummer I'll still use it for actual online orders I guess and see if it works on all online purchases.
I just realized that Costco and Costco gas does not work for this card. That's basically where all my groceries and gas come from. Anyone have recommendations on a card that works for Costco and Costco gas? Thanks.
is this one of the first general 3% shots fired? i remember when 2% was the target and fidelity led the way.
still not as good as my credit card which is 3% on everything, everywhere, unlimited. i spend 80% of my purchases online so this deal would be ok if i didn't have u.s. alliance
How does rewards work ? Is it 3% cash back or points , I had other CU which was giving more but when it comes to reward redemption their rewards are not 10k point = $100GC or credit statements, it's around 11500 points = $100 GC

Wells Fargo active cash visa 2% but the coscto credit card could be better if it's 3-5%

Chase Freedom has 5% on gas for these quarter and works with Costco gas
How is it a slap in the face? Preferred gets warranty extension, 6% on groceries, 6% on Streaming
This card gets 3% groceries and 3% online shopping. It's just a different benefit.
If you like the no-fee card better for your needs (I did) then just get on a support chat and tell them you want the no fee card. They will switch it and refund a pro-rated portion of your annual fee back. Took me 10 minutes when I switched. They sent me a new card a few days later. My old card kept working until it arrived. Completely painless experience.
No need to feel insulted by this. You got the benefits you were promised when you signed up for the fee based card. If you don't feel the benefits are worth the fee any longer, you can cancel or switch to a different Amex card at any time.
It's completely a slap in the face, because the preferred is the upgraded version of the everyday card. You pay more to upgrade it, and in this case it is a downgrade relative to the everyday card.
There has never been a benefit on the everyday that was better than the preferred. The preferred always inherited at a minimum what the everyday offered, and upgraded some of the benefits, because of the annual fee. Considering you cannot have both cards in the account, it's ludicrous to say they are distinct products. The preferred is the upgraded version of the everyday, not a distinct and separate product.
Answering my own question: looks to have been July 14th or 15th.
Next question: is the extra CB for department stores going away permanently starting November 1st? This was a bonus category since the card was launched.

Previously the Everyday cashback got 2% at department stores while the preferred got 1%. not the greatest category, but it disproves your point.

PNC has a credit card that is 4% on gas and its a Visa so you can use it at costco. It also earns 3% on dining. And 2% on grocery, but like everyone should have a 2% anywhere cashback card so the grocery amount isn't anything to write home about.
