A very sweet laptop assuming you don't need dedicated graphics. Probably great battery life? Definately great screen (I have it), great build quality, and great specs. Too bad Lenovo doesn't include the ThinkPad 3 yr warrantly, like they used to. Win Pro is a plus, especially with Win 11.
Thumbs up!

52.5 Whr battery. Oh, come on Lenovo, not again! First they ruined the P16s deal that was posted on SD the other day, and now this.

Yeah they really need to get the larger battery going in these

They do have an 86Whr battery for the P16s and T16, but I haven't seen any AMD version of the two laptops ship with it.

It's crazy that they are shipping these large workstation laptops with a battery that is even smaller than the one in their 14" 2.5lbs Thinkpad Carbon X1 (57Whr).

And how there is another deal posted on SD for a crazy spec T14s with 32GB DDR5, but with a shitty 300nit 45% NTSC display.

Not sure WTF is going on at Lenovo.

Wonder if the relatively small battery is compensated by super efficient AMD U part. Still, would've preferred the large battery AND the efficient chip.

Now the question is if the battery can be swapped later on. when more SKUs are available.
I hope so, since the chassis should be compatible with both batteries.

And if they make the battery available for purchase and for how much. I couldn't find the battery on their parts site. Maybe by the time the 86Whr battery is available for purchase, we will also see it ship in these laptops.

You can use the parts lookup to find parts as-built for the model.
Here's the 52Wh battery photo for T16 (Intel). There are a lot of empty space in the assembly. Presumably the bigger one will fill the whole thing

The answer is yes. I own ThinkPad P16s with the same CPU, same battery size. The battery life for very light tasks (web browser, onenote, etc.) is more than 7 hours. The battery estimation after a full charge is usually more than 9 hours. I can say that the 52.5Wh battery for 6800U lasts longer than a higher capacity battery for 11800H or 12700H, etc. I do not own a 1280P laptop so some one may add here.

The power that 6800U package draws is not very high (in my memory it's 28w or so). The Intel chips draw a much higher power. And this is evident in the noise an Intel laptop produces. This laptop remains quiet or low noise in almost all workloads. I play Anno 1800 on low setting under 4K resolution with the integrated 680M graphics card (I have low expectations and is OK with 30FPS). The laptop remains quiet during the game.

Other performance factors. I got more than 10k in Cinebench R23 multithread with and without power cord (same score), 2500 in Time Spy with and without power cord (same score). The laptop produces low noise running those benchmarks.

To me, the most important factor is that 6800U runs Quickbooks Pro flawlessly, while I have trouble starting the software on 11th or 12th gen Intel processors (takes like 5 minutes to open the program, usually it should be 30 seconds). I have owned more than 3 said Intel processors, all of them has the issue. Lenovo rep confirmed the said issue and told me a patch from Intel is to be released next month.

How does this compare to the P16s with the same CPU.

When would you pick one over the other?

Would one be faster?

Would one be cooler/quieter fans?
