Read a techpwup article saying that gtx overstock is at full blown crisis levels and that board partners are upset and demanding assistance selling stock with incentives and demanding the 4000 series release be pushed back farther or that they may not take orders.

They were estimating 3080 at 499 was necessary to move stock in time.

in terms of bang for buck, how does this compare to the 6600 deal? this would be for a secondary gaming pc (1080p) most likely paired with a 5600, so not a heavy use one, but i do like my visual fidelity. thanks!

For just 1080p this is probably overkill - stick with the 6600

I think this is a solid value. it meets about the series x so will be relevant for years, and maybe 25% slower than the 3080 in a lot of case esp with FSR2 getting adoption and about half the cost, so you wont want to jump off a bridge like everyone else that bought gpus last spring. I don't find this offensive at all. My guess is you'll see maybe 350 or so in a couple of months. It still perhaps a touch hard to justify vs a series x because you get so much more and it's slightly faster xbox being between 6800 and 6700xt. Too bad they don't just sell these direct. I kinda have started wondering how much of this is the board partners. once this is at 3-350 or so i think we are at full price normalization, and i deem that a hard buy. That said i mean you lose 70 or so max, for a fantastic gpu and actually a good brand. there really is a ton to love about this one. It 's got as much memory as nvidia's premium stuff, i think it will age well. I'm trying to wait for the next gen unless this gets really to my number, but if that's not your jam i think solid. Great find.

Yeah it's because the ponzi scheme has ended for the time being. It's definitely taking a while, more than i like, to see normal prices. At least this one doesn't' generate an immediate gag reflex.

For me there is more value here than in a 3080. I do agree for those that wait about 3 months esp after the proof of stake thing, plus amd releasing, plus more pressure on nvidia, plus more used it's just the beginning. As always with tech if you can wait wait, however if you have to buy now i'd take this over a 800 dollar 3080.

The popular opinion among investors is a general retrace ment in MSRP for maximum profitability.

Prices being too high hurts profits if the market won't support it and enough people aren't buying.

They aren't private companies and they can't do as they please. They have to give estimates every quarter and they have to hit or beat those estimates every quarter or there are huge consequences.

The only thing they care about is that thier stock doesn't get halved again from 180 to 90.

I just bought a 6800XT for $612 on eBay during Prime Day... If they're talking a/b selling a 3080 for $500, I'm probably gonna pull the trigger on that as well and create a whole new build for the helluvit

Putting these non-deals on the frontpage is also getting kind of spammy. There's a reason this has been in stock for a week at this price.

Got a 6700xt reference two months ago for 480+ tax.
It's a good card for 1440p. Consistently getting 100+fps on Overwatch. Around 60~70 on BF4072 but only bc I'm using ultrawide 1440p.
Get it if you want/need it now. Best price I've seen for 3 years.

I got this card from Best Buy for $399 a while back it's just not as flashy looking as XFX's other offerings buy the cooler is fine.

Stock up while getting is good put a new GPU in every computer, these cards will have plenty of service life.

I got this card back in March for $100 more. I have an ungodly amount of hours on the card already. Works great. Can't complain about it and it fit in my Mini-ITX case.
