Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I saw this also OP should note this is DEAL OF THE DAY.
Amazon has also price matched this 55"
I bought a LG C1 display from costco (3500 hours already on the tv) 55" for $850 w/tax. $100 streaming credit and 3yr extra allstate warranty. (after I saw them post new ones for $699 shortly after, VERY ymmv though. I felt cheated.)
While I am happy with the OLED's top tier performance, I would like to have a desktop wallpaper again (I use for PC) and not have the screen get dim every time I stop moving in a game. The OLED burn-in protections are quite anoyying and If you want to care for its longevity, you abide and keep them on. So I get this used Display OLED and then I have really baby it and it was still a whopping $850...meh
With that said, I'm still in the return period and will be returning my OLED C1 for this banging deal. This tv has solid reviews and I can return to max brightness 24/7 with no OLED burn-in fears.
This tv also has VRR / Freesync. No Gsync. I read that it was capable of VRR 4k 120hz with HDR on and I will be testing that.
1000 Nits (Brightness factor)
On top of that, 5 Yr best buy warranty is also cheap since the tv is cheap. For $99 you get 5yr warranty with best buy, supposedly protects you for everything and its transferrable.
Which brings me to my next point.. With the 5yr transferrable warranty for $99, including tax brings this TV to $657.23 (Brand New)
You get a 2021 very decent QLED (ULED Hisense) 55" 120hz with 5 Yr warranty ($99 optional)
Personally I'm just getting the 5 Yr warranty so I can sell it after 2-3 years and use the warranty as a selling point. If I decide to keep this tv, hell than best buy will cover it for the full 5 years.
I just feel better im getting a new TV and it will be cheaper, with no scare of Burn-in. Especially after I went and got a USED C1 and still had to pay a lot.. This deal makes me more satisfied. I hope this TV works out for me.

This is a great TV, with caveats. They never got 4k 120 right, and every firmware fix they released to try and fix it broke something else. It was blurry, had ghosting, and then the color got completely washed out. The current firmware is causing the sound to cut out for 10 seconds pretty frequently with sound bar. I hear they're working on yet another firmware update to fix that.
It has some weird software quirks, most of which were alleviated for me by disabling most apps except a few streaming services.
Turning the mic button off leaves 4 yellow lights on, but they turn off after a few hours.
Motion is just plain bad, but that should be expected for the price. Putting judder reduction at a 1 fixes things like scrolling banners without soap opera effect.
The panel is gorgeous after color calibration. Deep blacks, doesn't blow out whites like the u8g (it follows the curve correctly), and gets plenty bright. This is the selling point for this model. For $500 you won't find a more capable panel.
Local dimming setting is reversed - low is high and high is low. You want low.

I see these type of comments on these Chinese TV's all the time
Simple functionality seems to be a challenge at times due to bugs
As I said one the other thread, one more generation would do these TV's good I think
This is likely them clearing inventory for he "H" TVs. The U6H has been out for a bit now but now I just saw the U8H on Amazon. 55" for close to 1K. That is getting very close to OLED territory for not even their flagship model.
Due to seeing many reported issues with this brand I am thinking to get it with the protection plan. If adding $100 with a protection plan, is this still considered worth it? Or is it better to get a more reputable brand without the plan?
It will be for an elderly person who just needs good picture and sound. No gaming or anything like that

You might try a Sony 55X80J. Looks like Walmart has them for $600. Last thing an elderly person needs is a buggy tv.

what's with all the weird LED labels? Q, x , r, seriously why confuse the consumer??? these marketing gimmicks need to stop!
Some of those letters actually mean something. Model numbers might not however. If you really don't want to learn about the tech behind these TVs, just buy a Samsung or Sony within your budget and be done with it.
I got the 65" for under $600 for my bedroom and I'm very happy with it so far. I still haven't dialed in too much but I'm already pretty happy with the TV with just a few changed settings. Honestly... It might be better than my living room Sony that's just about 5yrs old (xbr65x900e). The Sony had a power supply issues recently so I wanted a backup TV. My TV repair man (yes they still exist!) Told me he's had a lot of problems with Sony's, esp their OLEDs.
Also, I've had no sound issues with my LG SP9YA soundbar attached.

which is what 99% of consumers do! I don't think majority of people even understand OLED vs LED!
