If you are actually going to use the account or can auto pay some bills with debit, you might consider Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union. 3.3% for up to $20k balance with 15 debit transactions and a monthly dd. The dd can be a deposit from almost any bank. I auto-transfer in $10 from ally monthly and have the cable bill to autopay $2, 15 times a month to earn the preferred rate.
Boo...

Bonuses are for people who don't have existing Chase checking or savings accounts, or those whose accounts have not been closed within the last 90 days. Keep in mind, you can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account.
Left Chase earlier this year for Sofi because of the sign up bonuses and interest rates.

Sofi currently has a 1.8% interest rate on both checking and savings and Chase still has a 0.01% Savings interest rate even after all the Fed hikes.

Obviously the Chase bonus is great for bonus churners and the people who actually go into banks in 2022 but I'm not switching back for 0.01%.

Too many silly questions in this thread. Please read the terms for yourself before you sign up for this deal:

Bonus/Account Information:
Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years. You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one-time use. To receive the checking bonus:
1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval;

AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of coupon enrollment. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the savings bonus:
1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval;

2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon enrollment;

AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the coupon enrollment. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the extra bonus: You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new account within 15 days. To receive any of the above bonuses, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. Eligibility may be limited based on account ownership. The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for Chase SavingsSM, effective as of 09/23/2022, is 0.01% for all balances in all states. Interest rates are variable and subject to change. Additionally, fees may reduce earnings on the account. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).

How to avoid the monthly fees:

Service Fee: Chase Total Checking has no Monthly Service Fee when you do at least one of the following each statement period:
Option #1: Have electronic deposits made into this account totaling $500 or more, such as payments from payroll providers or government benefit providers, by using (i) the ACH network, (ii) the Real Time Payment network, or (iii) third party services that facilitate payments to your debit card using the Visa® or Mastercard® network; OR,

Option #2: Keep a balance at the beginning of each day of $1,500 or more in your checking account; OR,

Option #3: Keep an average beginning day balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying Chase checking, savings and other balances. Otherwise a $12 Monthly Service Fee will apply.

Chase SavingsSM has no Monthly Service Fee when you do at least one of the following each statement period:
Option #1: Keep a balance at the beginning of each day of $300 or more in your savings account; OR,

Option #2: Have $25 or more in total Autosave or other repeating automatic transfers from your personal Chase checking account (available only through chase.com or Chase Mobile®); OR,

Option #3: Have a Chase College CheckingSM account linked to this account for Overdraft Protection; OR,

Option #4: Have an account owner who is an individual younger than 18; OR,

Option #5: Have a linked Chase Premier Plus CheckingSM, Chase SapphireSM Checking, or Chase Private Client CheckingSM account. Otherwise a $5 Monthly Service Fee will apply. A $5 Savings Withdrawal Limit Fee will apply for each withdrawal or transfer out of this account over six per monthly statement period (maximum of three Savings Withdrawal Limit Fees per monthly statement period, for a total of $15).

Why is everyone talking about keeping the account open for 6 months after payout to prevent clawback?

I don't see any mention of that in the fine print of the offer page.

This is the closest I could find about keeping funds:

"To receive any of the above bonuses, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout."

In the chase app where you can track the bonus, you can also get details on the offer, with no mention of 6 months.

Do I have to get direct deposits each month during the 90 days?

How can I imitate a direct deposit? Trasnfering funds from another bank? Please advise

I have a freeze on my ChexSystems account that I placed myself. Do I need to unfreeze it to apply for this and get an instant approval? My credit bureau files are unfrozen.

From terms it seems that only first month is required to get the bonus. after that qualifying balance is enough to avoid fee. anyone else can confirm ?

Was just going to ask how long it took to get all of the $600 bonus. The remaining just got added to my account as I was reading thread comments. It took 95 days for me to get the $600.

My transactions:
8/19 Opened new checking and saving accounts
9/6 Received $300 for New Checking
11/22 Received $200 for New Savings
11/22 Received $100 Extra Bonus

I see "If your savings account is closed by the customer or Chase within six months after coupon enrollment, we will deduct the bonus amount for that account at closing."

I just finished being paid out the bonus; I've set a reminder to cancel in May, just in case!

Where do you find reference to $5k?
Savings require monthly auto save of mimimum $25, checking maybe $1500 minimum daily balance or monthly payroll credit.
Willing to be corrected, if I am wrong
